Many people say you need humility to understand Bitcoin. I never fully understood this, because I never disregarded the idea initially (even tho I was slow to fully understand). The real humility required by most Americans is that the US isn't as special as we thought. It has some unique characteristics (the New World, free speech, etc), but ultimately human nature will play out. All successful governments (empires?) debase and devalue their currency eventually. They all fall apart eventually. With any luck, and with Bitcoin as the rudder, we'll softly land in a world cleansed of such theivery

A slightly breakthrough moment with the wife. She's not against it, she just trusts me on finances and big picture stuff...and given my obsession, she has no pallet for the topic. I explained to her how two years ago, a very short time ago, we could have bought my house for 8 or 9 Bitcoin. Today we could buy my house for ~2.5 Bitcoin. Her: "wow that is crazy" Me: now you know why I don't wanna buy a new house anytime soon. The prices keep dropping.

I had chat gpt run cagr on Bitcoin for the last ten years (ie 6/30/2015-6/30/2025, 6/30/2016-6/30/2025, 2017-2025, etc) It was so wrong. Puzzled, and uncertain of my own calc, I checked the ai #s. Still couldn't get it. Eventually it said 'oh yeah my #s were wrong. So I ran it by grok. Grok nailed it. At least, it passed my own check.
