Hope you’re in a better situation than yesterday, always getting better, but for all those Brits out there, stay frosty, exchanges are easy in, but a whole lot of hassle getting out. They will make you jump through a lot of hoops to get your sats back into cold storage.

#coffeechain needed this morning, but less full on than yesterday.

Good luck with that, Andy. Tough or even anything other than “just print more money” decisions have sailed through parliament over the past 5 years.

Gm nostriches, in no way what I was expecting this morning……. Random number generator exploit in coldcard. They always said, don’t be rushed in moving your funds, don’t take advice from people with a sense of urgency, this is when mistakes will be made, this could be the bigger risk to losing coins, making a mistake…… Time to up my game, do the dice rolling, add a passphase, sort the multisig for the home set up, but even so, 4 hours after shares this issue on X, mempools are still empty……. Damn the coldcard I hid in a random spot in the house!!!! Is this a strange analogy……… suppose it’s time the roll the dice and leave it where it is! Or find a reason that I need to head into a random place in the house…….. before heading out to Brighton…….. but first, #coffeechain to clear the mind. Happy Friday freaks, stay calm.

Jimmy’s article was pretty interesting with how a chain split could work out with his fees on a lower hash rate chain motivating miners to move their hash over, but also service agreements stopping many miners moving. Finding an exchange that list a fork will be interesting, so unless it can be done minimal kyc, dumping coins could be the carrot that gets a lot of less careful people (than yourself) that doxx their whole stack. Hoping liquid will do something, lots of money to be made by exchanges will get a lot of people interested.

Looking back, I think this was quite the important point to make about bitcoin core, Gloria Zhao will live for eternity as one of the core developers to pushed through the op_return increase, personal Glory(a), or infamy, without any development or improvement actually being shipped.

Is Michael Saylor beginning to make our arguments for us? Absolutely don’t care if the 99% fiat minded monsters aren’t part of our party.

“I have so much important stuff to say, I’m an academic don’t you know”. 🤨

A tough show to listen to by 2 left wing academics (not crazy left, but very “the unions were a good thing”), focusing on all that is wrong with the system without actually explored the processes that lead to value creating business that will create wealth and prosperity. Feel like they are too busy looking back and not giving enough attention on where we need to go. Always, the knocking of “middle class” as if they arrive with a silver spoon got a little repetitive. The middle class is getting crushed while the working have been turned into the welfare class, and loving it! “We need better story telling” 🤦‍♂️ But credit where credit’s due, Lisa did acknowledge that while she didn’t like Farage, he has helped begin to mix things up. Cheers and awesome work Connor for picking them up on some contradictions. https://fountain.fm/episode/tbvHTR2dV47er5hNM1jw

It starts with telling you, you won’t get on the good side of the banks unless you follow his lead. Now, after settling up a consortium to fund and fix Bitcoin, he suggests has “just heard about Bitcoin and he’s here to fix it”. Wondering if someone needs to go and see Saylor and ask him if he’s ok? These are ramblings of someone who appears to have lost the point. Buying fiat, credit product buy backs, and poking fun at actual OGs. Slay your heroes, unsure he ever was, but I’m out of the fiat games completely.

The only conclusion I can work out from this is my brain is too small and there are too many variables to know which way this will go…….. fun times ahead.

Gm nostriches, so many emergency podcasts to go through this morning, very good. Rob hamilton, with more technical, with the scale of the problem, 2 to the 32 is a big number but hackable, but trick with the Conflict of interests of anchor watch……. “Mini script will fix this……..” unsure why if I need to config file to work my multi sig, how hackers can get around this, surely a multisig involves a 2 to the 32 multiplied by 2 to the 32 to be able to find a multi sig. I think the maths of this alarm raising needs more thought……: (and I’m the brother in the family without a PhD is maths knowing this) Don’t like the idea of marathon and slip stream being the option to minimise key exposure, a strange marketing pick for a very grey hat Bitcoin player. Heading out to buy shares in dice manufacturers, will also be rolling a lot, also feeling gold bugs and physical security of such coins will be doing well. The day of “the Brighton pride parade” has arrived, family hotel room was interesting…… but everyone still asleep, me worried about the shit I’ll see today, and have to smile and wince while someone says “love is love”. Cold walk on the beach was pretty good though. https://fountain.fm/episode/vZLtbyVzRCR2IPJNNv8K https://fountain.fm/episode/D24j5CW1EOLb7pRfCAnV

At a time like this, it is worth looking towards the simpler things in life, with and . Roll some die, create lots of entropy, sleep well. Cheers

Always silver linings, everyone can stay more humble. 🫡🙌

Asking for a friend, is the RNG AI exploit the bottom of the bear? Or maybe after watching clueless last night, (weird and even though it was from the 90’s, really not that good), but the girl is the dollar suit was 👌, always it the saylor earnings call where he talked about his dollar stack!!!

Now questioning everyone who say’s they “lost Bitcoin” due to a coldcard exploit as to whether they’ve received “the phone call”……….. sorry if people have lost but not taking them on face value anymore.

Worth a quick listen. Stay frosty, poor , as if he didn’t already have enough on his plate.

Received a physical letter for ledger only the other week about their “proposed quantum solution”, so really feeling this……. When protecting your keys really comes down to ‘s advice……..

DugandRupe
DugandRupe 1d

Blockstream in the consortium…….. who’d have thunk wallet fud would be quite so loud.

DugandRupe
DugandRupe 1d

Moving forward in terms of , it will be key in terms of how NVK responds, these exploits can come out of nowhere with AI, this is a new field, the quantum and AI fud for breaking bitcoin is everywhere. What was the context, how was this done, will there be a software update that addresses this issue with the RNG, or takes out the option. (Don’t need an exploit “how to” recipe but info would be useful) Was this a vulnerability that has been addressed in later hardware, I’d like to know. Btc session addressing this nicely but not completely. Devils advocate wise, putting my conspiracy hat on, a little over a week out from a potential chain split and some news about coinkite works well with one of the consortium members (Blockstream) having an alternate hardware device to offer you…… also, the suggestions, while theoretically logical, moving funds to exchanges, feels weirdly like people voluntarily handing over their keys….. 6102, using a bank to custody you gold making it easier to seize……….. stay calm, cool, collected, but also paranoid and frosty. Also, mkiii, in odell’s post, not specific and includes Q’s as well, like a mug, reacting like bit of an idiot, mkiv all moved, but is this not prudent? Currently watching with and Nathan, very helpful for clarity. Use this mistake as a kick up the ass to do better. https://www.youtube.com/live/b6cAF602y-E?si=9LDW1aib7_hq_P3d

House will be empty while they go and look after a neighbour’s cat, there may be a window to retrieve the hidden coldcard……. Dice rolling will now only be about the entropy I’m going to add to my next wallets, rather than leaving the sats exposed while I’m away (I still reckon this must be a tail risk, but likelihood against impact, probably still worth actions, particularly given fees are low, time for some big simple UTXOs).
