So youβre saying cashu-style ecash cannot scale anything? Thatβs unfortunate, but I only care about Bitcoin.
Yes itβs retarded to sell your Bitcoin, but there are some influencers who are pushing the idea that custodial ecash banks will scale Bitcoin
Iβve seen a few OG whales that have sold. Maybe they heard the future of Bitcoin is custodial ecash.
Bitcoin Takeover is the best Bitcoin podcast, by a lot
Bitcoin is money independent from the State
Filters can slow things down, but you cannot stop it. And because you cannot stop it, more and more people will run alternative clients without the filters There is not enough space on L1 to onboard the world. Devs are trying to build L2s that actually work. If you want to decrease the L1 blocksize, ossify, AND separate money from the state, drivechain is the answer
Most people use custodians, and will continue to use custodians because itβs much easier. If self-custody Lightning somehow becomes as easy as a custodian, there isnβt enough L1 bytes to onboard the world.
Hal wrote about Bitcoin banks before Satoshi had invented merged mining. It was the obviously simple scaling solution, but they continued to develop and build. Bitcoin banks will suffer the same fate as gold-backed banks. The solution is multiple "medium-size" blockchains. So instead of 10GB blocks on L1, we have ten 1GB sidechains + 1MB L1, secured by Bitcoin miners and cheap enough for businesses to run full archival nodes. The rest of us can use SPV wallets (and still run a full L1 node), which are massively better than custodians.
Any #rust devs want to make $10,000-$60,000 by the end of August? Get paid in dollars or Bitcoin This is not a scam. Itβs a hackathon and potential job opportunity DM me
Never trust anyone who says you "need" to run an alternative client to "save Bitcoin" If an alternative client provides features you "want", then try it out! But if you are a regular user of Bitcoin, you donβt "need" to do shit
You should probably block me
