It really is that simple.

Damn! I missed this poll. So here's what I experienced in the dotcom days: I day traded my way through university. I bought "The Financial Post" and would read it while sitting in Bus101. I had to call my brokerage to set up trades. Big plays were Lucent, Cisco, Qualcomm, and the introduction of QQQ (only three Qs back in those days). That was 1996. CNBC was on the TV and I started my day with Maria Bartoromo and ended with F'n Jim Cramer. By 1998 I was graduated and off to Europe on the profits I'd made to backpack. When I returned I went to work for a Big 6 bank HQ at a shit job. It was full "Wolf of Wall St" vibes. Everything was dotcom today when yesterday they were a scam mining company operating out of broom closet in a shared workspace in Vancouver. We gambled on everything including crumpled telex printouts tossed into a basket. Drinks flowed and liquidity was higher than Barton or Everett at the club the night before. We saw stupid shit like the Pets.com mascot at the Macy's parade. Pennystocks were nuts but printing daily. PE ratios were meaningless and immeasurable (can't divide by a negative, right Saylor?). It was all the vibes. This is 1999. Then the flagrant violations started roll in. Brokerages were the first to show cracks. They over leveraged, over promised, and started getting shutdown or bought out (by BIG players for the books, ie client lists). That was 2000. By 2001 the party was over and 9/11 drove a full nail into the coffin. Of all those I knew who had enjoyed the ride it was the hippy chick in HR who was left standing. So where are we with AI today? Nowhere near the frenzy. It's far too narrow and concentrated. The dotcom boom/bust is more akin to what happened in 2017-21 from ICO, adding block chain to your name, and the FTX BS. When Matt Damon did a Superbowl ad that was totally 90s all over again... And it blew up. Now it's just a handful of AI companies and their suppliers getting attention while the REAL AI development is in the corporate space but not being broadcast. Manufacturers like Martinrea are killing it behind the scenes, developing in house, but using it to drive quality and reduce issues in manufacturing auto parts globally. That's just one example of thousands of major players doing so. In the dotvom days they'd be trading at 60x earnings and not the 6x they are now just off a press release and an appearance on BloombergTV. So, is AI in a bubble? Depends on how big the flywheel story actually is with Nvidia and the software developers. Even XAi ultimately caved on the consumer usage and Google is just eating into its search with Gemini to stave off the invasion from others. The AI effect is real but limited in the market to a handful of companies while Nvidia trades at 35x earnings. There are new competitors to their space in chips but there struggling to find footing and the market is actually reflecting that. The general wobbliness of the market as a whole, right now, is reflective that globally the economy is on life support while the Mag7 make up too much of the BS. When AI does make it's real impact known, brace yourself. It's gonna be ugly globally.

I feel... Targeted.

Where's the "don't care" option? Maybe I'm just ignorant but open networks do what open networks do and my inclination is to not care what people do with the network so long as I have real 🌽.

My kids are funny... They have iPhones (15 and 16 so only a couple of years old) BUT when they go out they take pics with a Canon Ixy Digital 10 released back in 2007! They've decorated it and they "like the aesthetic" of a point and shoot camera. They some times take a pic, then display the pic on the tiny screen, then use their phones to take a pic of the pic displayed o the tiny screen to upload to their Snap or whatever. So does this mean they'd be interested in my old Pentax K1000 or Rolleiflex? Hells naw... Film is an entirely different beast but they "love the aesthetics of the last century it gives". (The Minolta gets no love as it's "too bulky without coolness")

Sometimes I like to delve into the world of reddit, particularly autistic people playing fiat games with MSTR, MSTY, MSTZ... some even hold ₿. When I say "autistic" I'm not being rude or dismissive... They're often commenting in the autistic subs, too. Anyways, I like to see what they posted before and where they're at now. Amazing how many were so sure, strived to convince others (really, themselves) and then went quiet. Play stupid fiat games, Win stupid fiat prizes. Work, eat, stack, stay solvent, sleep, repeat. It's really that simple. Everything else is a distraction (hopefully just entertainment). Not one real Bitcoiner should have any MSTR or related products. Yeah, you might have captured fiat. Put it in productive companies and minimize your exposure to the rot that is the largest casino in the known universe.

Tis the nature of the dichotomy. Left or Right is just designed to fight. Then you have us Libertarians who are above it all and just want them all to fuck off and leave us alone.

Gotta get through Canada first! 😂 (Probable match... Unless the Canucks face South Korea in the next round)
