I actually dated a girl once who seemed to strive for mediocrity in anything she did. I get so much value from watching those I care about push their expertise in whatever their passions are. It was the strangest thing, even as a teenager, to be with someone who didn’t seem at all interested in striving for excellence in anything. I was young and horny, but still it didn’t last long; there was nothing there. At least be an expert in yourself?
