good take but I think you underestimate how many people are checking out of the dystopian centralized instant- dopamine driven circus and are looking for where they could deal with likeminded people and engage in p2p activity and make sustainable living through that. I believe they will come and converge on nostr eventually. the big problem of current nostr is the fragmentation and the poor discovery. I've been on nostr for a while and I only heard like and today when I was messing with my project and saw that they have a decent amount of incoming zaps and people I follow follow them. We just need tooling that lets people discover their people as opposed to the default follow-packs that are stuffed with bots and that've been long dead. Or relaying on the established reposting valuable stuff.

Who's the MZP (most zapped pubkey) your follows follow? maybe you should follow them too...

It's just a log scale to slightly discount the support from accounts that follow a ton of people. Basically if you have 5 small accounts following one person that that's a stronger signal than if that same person is followed by accounts that follow everyone. But the general bucket was mostly just a proof of concept, now I'm finally getting to the more interesting recommendations based on activity and zaps:

I was thinking of the webs of trust - if I trust someone and they have a positive interaction, I would probably be interested in that content too. Rn, there's one fat web of trust, the OGs that are part of the starter packs, end everyone gets the content through them. But hardly ever I get something from the other peripheral accounts, even though we might have similar interests. And on the other side, as an account with just a few followers scattered across different timezones, your posts are likely to just die among the floods coming from the news bots.

It appears we had a similar idea, should we coordinate on the event schemas? I currently have 33301 for replaceable design specs.
