Currently re-reading Resistance Money by Bailey, Rettler, and Warmke. Three professors arguably taking an academic risk by promoting btc. On resisting censorship they write: Censorship blocks the free flow of expression, which is usually digital today. “Most financial transactions occur as glorified digital messages. As expressions, they too, can be censored. By blocking people from “speaking” freely in the financial world, authorities impede the free flow of value. I am excited to begin using Nostr as my primary social media platform for all things bitcoin. I began studying bitcoin and blockchain as a master's student at SFU in Vancouver in 2017 and have not stopped since. For my PhD dissertation, I am investigating bitcoin discourse, adoption, and use cases in the context of its increasing popularity and mainstream acceptance. I have interviewed some incredibly intelligent, hardworking, and fascinating people in the space and I am excited to eventually share my findings with fellow bitcoiners.
