Here.

Okay, it seems that the social media curse is real even there. So I think it’s time to excuse myself. If anybody needs me, I’m not really hard to find 👋

Okay, that makes sense. Here, in CZ village it’s similar, there are no really remote places. It does not take much effort to live almost anywhere here. I guess in larger countries it would be very different.

But isn’t it true that cost of living is much higher there? My friend who lived there for many years used to refer to the US as the richest third-world country, mainly because even though he made about much more on the same position than home (and here it is quite lucrative position), he constantly struggled to make ends meet. Back here, he lives very comfortable life on about a third of his US salary. It is obvious on subscription prices, you can pile multiple $6/month in the US without problems, but here it gets prohibitive very fast.

I see your wifey training goes well…

There are only 2 things in reality: 1. lies 2. people reacting to lies

I have lived through that, we had lengthy conversation with the doctor and finally decided to remove it. According to latest studies it seems that one of the functions of it is to harbour gut bacteria in the event of severe diarrhoea, but with our modern diet it is prone to keep the bad bacteria in. Here doctors say that up until about 20 years old they try to save it, but with fully grown adults they tend to remove it as the infection can be life threatening. After the surgery the doctor told me it was ready to burst, so it was a good call.

I have to say that Reticulum is one of the most interesting piece of tech I came across in a long time.

No, more right leaning channels are limited, because expressing left leaning views is deemed more acceptable.

avedelphina

Don’t worry. It’s going to be fine.

avedelphina

I believe it’s actually both extremes, but as euroatlantic academia is now pretty left-locked, I think that overall leftist politics is universally deemed a bit more acceptable on social media.

Stay strong. It’s not fun, but it’s also about the one thing that western medicine is quite good for.

Not with web browsers. I still don’t agree that it was more intense. It certainly FELT more intense, but I believe that the covert version we have now is actually harder. It’s no longer about deplatforming, but about limiting reach very aggressively, so most of even slightly controversial accounts are effectively talking to a wall.

Exactly. I keep my old X account and I sometimes look what’s the latest psyop. I strictly just look, never interact, no likes, no replies, no nothing. It is interesting to watch what the algorithm tries to show me without any meaningful feedback apart from scrolling the timeline and lingering on some posts (I even don’t click on videos to play). It’s still looking like shaping the current narratives and the “bubbling” (emphasising one’s bubbles) is very pronounced. We might not get overt bans now, but shadowbanning and timeline shaping is much more sophisticated, and - because mostly covert - more dangerous then during covid. I’m not on Facebook for years and I have never used any other social networks in any meaningful way, but even on Twitter it’s very clear.

You just tap into the husband’s account.

avedelphina

Correct. But having judges with no skin in the game is equally wrong. Current justice system is not about justice, but only about the implementation of government policies. If you really want justice system to be just, you need to design it in a completely different way.

I hate that everything interesting is in the videos and podcasts, so I built a little stack that downloads them with the transcripts, transcribe those with transcripts unavailable, funnels the media files to Plex library, makes transcripts searchable with Meili and pushes them into KB in OpenWebUI, so they can be queried with local LLMs. And you know what? It’s working… 👀👀👀

Oh, no way, this is so beautiful and fascinating to watch, it’s like poetry in movement.

Current life goal: - nice early dinner - drinks till late evening - long walk through Prague - drinks till morning - nice early breakfast - sleep all day

I was a bit sarcastic, but not much. Reality is that most long-term marriages experience significant decline in sex life. Why is that? I have my suspects, but I guess it would actually be a complex problem, contrary to the popular view.

avedelphina
avedelphina 22d

Wouldn’t it be more logical the other way round?

avedelphina

Okay, now this was a solid timeline adjustment. I have two Excels with data coming possibly from the same source, but one of the cells was different. I cross-checked them in my files and they were saying the opposite. So I looked up the source and there got the authoritative value, but when I looked to both files, they are suddenly identical now and in accordance with the source. If I haven’t just spent 15 minutes looking at it reading it multiple times side-by-side wondering what this difference means, I would think I am just tired, but…
