It takes time to set boundaries and see parents acknowledge their child is a grown-up. On the other hand, sometimes it's okay if you let your mum indulge you.

The solution that works best for me and I like might not be 100% open source, and I'm fine by that. For instance, I believe there are parts of raspberry pi (firmware, h/w schematics) that are closed.

If you already have a CC and know that you must generate your own entropy, I think you're good. If you don't, then SeedSigner would be my choice. Using open source is great, but I am striving for pragmatism here. There's often a balance between open vs closed source and a tool being fit for purpose.
