Sad but true
You might like the Ireland board on the reverse. 🍀
This reminds me of Brexit. Knuckle-draggers are being manipulated by fundamentalist rabble-rousers.
I didn't realise that the OP_RETURN limit expansion in Core v30 is to prevent UTXO bloat - where spammy data is kept in the UTXO set. It's a pragmatic solution to spam damage - not an encouragement of spam This needs to be explained better. 🙏
Fishing Trick-taker by Friedemann Friese, the green-haired designer of Power Grid and many others. This one reminds me of Power Grid in that it's really all about the catch-up mechanism. You get 1 point for every card you win in tricks. You keep the cards you capture and recycle them for your next hand. If you don't have enough, you draw cards from the deck, which gets progressively more powerful with higher cards and trumps. This means that doing badly in a hand means your next hand will be much stronger. Powerful hands ebb and flow between the players, which is delightful, especially when playing with mixed abilities. Unfortunately I'm not convinced there's much skill as you can't card count or have much control which cards you receive. I'll keep playing, but I am not convinced it's a long-term keeper. #boardgames
what a hideous shower of cunts you are
You're pathetic
GDP per capita at PPP is not a measure of salary, but considers everything in an economy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita
Working perfectly now. Thank you for such a great client! 🤩

Taj Mahal More confrontational than I remember. It is often called an auction game but they are are really small battles like in Ivanhoe/Condottiere. The area control reminds me a lot of Iwari/Web of Power/Tyrants of the Underdark. This is less intuitive than a regular Knizia. Not one of his best but memorable. #boardgames

"Not able to get lightning address from lightning link". I messaged Blake about it on Telegram and he was very responsive and friendly and said it would be fixed this week, but I didn't want to wait to test Blockstream.
Yes but it was Yonatan Sompolinsky who couldn't explain it. He just said it was a "generalisation" of Bitcoin. 🤷♂️ He also wouldn't recommend a wallet. It's an interesting discussion though. I'll listen to the end.
Splendor Pokemon Regular Splendor is smooth and intuitive so I was a bit concerned that this might be gilding the lily. I shouldn't have hesitated. This version just replaces the nobles with upgrading (evolving) cards (pokemon). It's a nice thematic twist on the original. #boardgames
A friend wants to invest in Bitcoin, so I wanted to try out some wallets. I thought I'd give the app (aka Green) a try as it's the top player in Bitcoin development. My sats were in , but it's a bit too early to be really usable. Lightning payments were broken, so I had to get my money out using Spark - which worked fine. The only other Spark wallet I could find was (a Chrome extension + mobile app) so I got sats out using that. I tried to transfer sats into the Blockstream app using Lightning, but, to my surprise, the payment went through as mainnet. I wasn't bothered as the fee was cheap. I then realised that the Blockstream app doesn't support Lightning out of the box. It's an "experimental feature" that you have to enable in settings - except that feature wasn't there. 🤯 I gave up and did a mainnet transction into Misty - a reliable mobile wallet that supports mainnet, liquid and lightning with no fuss. I might try Xverse again another time as that did the job too.
Fate of the Fellowship I couldn't resist this in the shop. It's thematically brilliant. Better than War of the Ring because the characters are so important. Punishingly hard. I have played 3 times and only come close once and that was because I got a lift from the giant eagles to Mt Doom. Playing with 4 gamers shares the cognitive load. Surprised I've enjoyed it so much, but disappointed it's too much for my son. Upgraded from Nazgul minis to black cubes. #boardgames
