a year later is wild & i love that for the 3 of us
second order of business: if you mean to push against the exceptions, if you are against any restriction, ok how does it play out when someone shouts "fire!" in a crowded theater with bottlenecks at the exit points & yet, how does it play out if you graffiti your resistance to genocide? the tradeoffs are worth talking about costs may be to high in some places & too low in others
there is no single international definition of "hate speech", however, in the US, hate speech itself is protected by the First Amendment, meaning it is not illegal, though it may be restricted if it falls into an exception to free speech, such as being a true threat or incitement to imminent violence. Many other countries, in contrast, do have laws criminalizing hate speech to protect human dignity and public order. so, first order of business: respect the local laws of wherever you happen to find yourself to be. know them before you travel there. if you are so incompatible with them as to be unable to conform to them for the duration of your visit, do not visit.
please watch the overreach like overcompression if you reduce the size of the jpeg do not be careless there's ugly speech, there's gross speech, sure there's evil speech & abusive speech & speech soaked in emotional violence by design, of course there is hate speech, speech born of hatred, some born of hatred speech even sounds syrupy sweet the important part of the limitation of scope is charlie said: legally that cannot be erased from the message. speaking about the legal terrain is a different environment from the wider world of words & the expressions of them inside language philosophically

i liked nostr as architecture. zero issue. suite me just fine the issues, my hesitance, returning to nostr was exclusively centered around 2 aspects. i didnt end up resolving them, & that's why im here in a sort of open casual test mode, acclimating & looking around. 1. landscape of interests. there is little overlap in some major areas. i dont necessarily mind so much re:bitcoin cos i can be really good at ignoring stuff & just doing my own thing, but it ~does~ make it more difficult to bring friends here. 2. related to the first: i was ideally looking for a platform with nostr tech where i wanted to cook a meal for everyone, like whoever stopped by grab a plate whatever i have no issue with weird shit. i like weird shit. i have no issue disagreeing philosophically, i like disagreements like that they are interesting. i dont mind religion just dont try to strangle me with yours. etc. issue: i dont want to cook dinner for enemies. by enemies i mean 2 peoples: A. the people who would enjoy my demise conceptually as a data point as another dead ndn B. the people who dont consider people like me as census point: barista because of their accelerations im not so concerned about A. re: my past experience with nostr A. is more echoes from experiences on x so that now im trepidatious to step closer to any male oriented space. like that idea just feels unwise & yo that's super sad cos that's not a feeling i had years ago. that's a cost of x for me, rn, the place that was once twitter. a little bruised. im sure it's fine. im just explaining hesitancy re: nostr. i know this isnt an actionable thing anyone can do anything about. simply sharing aloud like on a feedback form that encouraged elaborating about whatever. like this is an interview a sociologist is conducting on me for qualitative anecdotal data to put in their paper. B. yea i mean i guess i'll fight my corner as ~census point barista~ please make sure demolition zones are away from your local baristas. like what would get me to leave nostr is if i ever decided my shared freely words were contributing towards fertilizing the soil of environment de yarvin at the peril of baristas worldwide
i send my love 🕊️ i send my wellwish that it does not rain & that it is a good day & i have 2 trees of my own that i will be planting today in correspondence 🌿
let's not talk about it from there tho placing it in a fuller range of time outside the contemporary interpreting it with a spirit of generosity, things are a responsibility when taken as seriously as they should be many things adds up to a poverty of time what you can do without because you desire to do without is a kind of wealth forever sovereign & entirely & completely of your very own making
wanna share about my reluctance to return to nostr & why as in: my thoughts on my memories of this terrain these last few weeks i am here now but one of the places i considered was bluesky until my friend in gaza had her new account deleted within a single day where palestinians are not allowed to be i will never be
account undeleted
