The new bitchat update allows for decentralised, encrypted messaging without needing a Bluetooth connection, using Nostr kinda cool, if it works I still like the Bluetooth part tho haha

You can easily bypass this with a VPN, or any third party Bluesky client though, not difficult. The devs purposefully made it this way.
