I wasn't always a follower of Christ. I spent many years believing lies that the world told me about the self. So I do have some empathy for non believers, however it does seem interesting that the name "Jesus Christ" invokes such rage in many. "The light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil." (John 3:19) Then there are some that are church hurt because of the failed institutions of man and blame Jesus, but have never truly read his words. Others hearts are too hardened and some don't have eyes to see. I suppose it is by the Grace of God only, that we find our way. I pray for those still searching. By their fruits you shall know them...

Forgive me Lord, for I am a sinner. Pray I believe in my heart and proclaim with my mouth that Jesus is Lord.

There is definitely nothing civil about it

The Bible is part cautionary tale of the depravity of humanity and the promised salvation through Christ Jesus. It has become very evident that we cannot save ourselves through "evolving" or transcendence or personal mastery. Most people miss the truth due to a combination of too much ego and too little imagination. I know, because I am the worst of the bunch and thank God everyday that I now have eyes to see. Praise Jesus!
