Cities are places where you have 11 neighbors you have never met, where you walk by a stranger on the sidewalk without greeting them, where you can't chat with the people in line at the grocery store because they are all on their phones. Even as an introvert, not a place for me. But the devil's playground? Meaning what, more immoral? Sinful?

I just started this book. I think it is an important read for this time and place . Like many, I have felt fearful of AI and the implications but any time I feel fearful of something, I examine the origin of that fear. Is it actually something I need to hijack my already frayed nervous system for or is it, in fact, a manufactured fear brought to us by the media? Already, Zach Bush has helped me see that what I actually fear is the way humanity is becoming more and more robotic. We stuff our feelings, our soul's longings, our own needs and agendas to fullfill the capitalist mission of making the top tier thrive while ignoring the hungry masses. Food, shelter, and safety are basic human rights, not something we should have to go to work to get access to. We are, more and more, forgetting our humanity. Maybe AI is, ironically, the place where we will look to get it back.

I have always asked that same question. Our skin is our largest system for detoxifing. I believe it isn't u.v. going in but what it helps us to expel that is the problem... that and our depleted ozone layer. But when you can get entire populations to AVOID the literal SOURCE of life on our planet...well...that is some pretty amazing programming. Question what you think you know.

Bill Mollison said "The tragic reality is that very few sustainable systems are designed or applied by those who hold power and the reason is obvious and simple: to let people arrange their own food, energy, and shelter is to lose economic and political control over them." I would argue that food, energy, and shelter are basic human rights that ALL creatures are entitled to. We have been taught to be disgusted by those who do not "work" for a living, to be wary of people who are unhoused, and to look down upon people who use government assistance to access food as if these things were atrocious. What is atrocious to me is that every human on Earth is not automatically entitled to have their basic survival needs met the moment they are born. The whole system of capitalism is designed for endless extraction of your energy, of resources, of money. It is not designed to be sustainable because endless growth is not sustainable.

The rat race, the late stage capitalist system, living on the grid, eating food that didn't come out of the ground....opting out of those

Hope all you #cochisecounty folks are being blessed by these rains! A hike near Turkey Creek ended in a bone soaking downpour yesterday and the skies opened up last night. I swear my trees are singing!
