I agree entirely. I'm in that boat, I have known the importance of decentralisation, encryption, and anonymity since the age of 8/9 but those I grew up with are too obsessed with mindless consumerism and convenience above their own soverignity. People now consider me a conspiracy theorist just because I refuse to use centralised software and look after my Op/InfoSec. Many have forgotten they have a right to privacy, but we are out there. Most people from my generation (anecdotal; based on my own group) just can't afford it. After bills, taxes, necessities, etc, we just don't have the disposable income to swap to BTC. I often travel to the UK, many of my friends and associates believe the bill specifically targets adult content exclusively. I explain how deep this really goes and they think I'm delusional or a conspiracy theorist. Insane how mind-controlled people really are in the UK.
