Soup season is upon us!

I’d like to read more about what they were expecting the sacrifice result to be at the time it was made and to understand what has changed for them. Why do you think it wasn’t worthwhile?

Once trust matters again, other things start to really matter. In other words, honor is second derivative trust. https://primal.net/e/

A peanut butter tap on this thing would be fire. (High trust societies only)

I have family members that are so captured by one ideology, or another, that I’ve seen their faces morph into looks of suspicion if I don’t automatically cosign their opinion (let alone actually disagree on something). I’ve taken to listening more than I talk, and when I do talk, it’s usually questions. I’ve taken the initiative to try to find points on which we agree. The goal here is to set an example in the hope that they might begin to do the same with me, then maybe others. The progress has been very slow, but the conversations have been more meaningful and I think I’ve cracked through the programming once or twice.

I am not one of them. Men had to invent entire systems of government just to compete with this.

Love it when the scribbles start taking form. So cool to see it happen.

The colors and form are striking. Hang it in the Louvre!

It does seem that way to me too. I think they were fighting to preserve their way of life at the time. Or at least to prevent being taken over by outsiders. And they did win that battle, didn’t they? It’s just so hard for me to take the stance that it was a waste. Do you think there’s ever a sacrifice big enough to cause generations to maintain culture/traditions indefinitely? I’m not sure. But, if not, then does that make the sacrifice that was made a waste? Maybe only those that made the sacrifice can say. I certainly can’t. To me it seems there’s untold other decisions that have been made on the paths between here and there that led to this point where it looks like a waste when comparing a to z. Couldn’t any combination of those decisions be considered more at fault for the current state of affairs?
