PearCal v1.0.37 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar ## New Features -Reset app data. You can now clear PearCal from inside the app, under Profile then Settings. There are two options: clear your calendar and groups but stay signed in as yourself, or start over completely as a brand new user. Previously the only way to do this was to delete the app and reinstall it, which on iPhone meant losing everything with no way back. -Turn the relay off on desktop. Mac, Windows and Linux now have the same privacy switch the phone app already had, so you can stop PearCal routing through the shared relay if you would rather it did not. -See more in the widget. The home screen widget now shows more of your upcoming events instead of stopping at five, and fits as many as the widget size allows. -Know why a join failed. If joining a group does not work, the app now tells you what went wrong instead of quietly doing nothing. ## Privacy -Your recovery phrase is no longer stored in iCloud or Google. Older versions quietly saved it to Apple's or Google's cloud, with no way to see or switch that off. It now stays on your device only, and this update automatically deletes any copy that was already uploaded. ## Improvements -Clearer blind peer pairing. Pairing now shows progress on both the app and the seeder dashboard, with a countdown, and gets out of your way once it succeeds. -Accurate blind peer details. The blind peer list showed how many groups it was seeding at the moment you paired it, which could be badly out of date. It now shows the real number. ## Bug Fixes -Moving an event to another date made it disappear. The event vanished from your calendar until you restarted the app, and on a paired second device it could be lost for good. Fixed on phone and desktop. -Multi-day events dropped out of the widget. An event spanning several days showed on its first day and then disappeared, even while it was still running. -Groups could lose the key that keeps them private, which left you stuck behind a "can't sync" message. Existing affected groups repair themselves, and the desktop app can now repair them too. -Re-sharing an event did not bring it back for anyone else in the group. -Invite links were unreliable. Sometimes tapping one did not open the join screen at all, and older links could leave the app stuck on a blank screen until you force-closed it. ## PearCal Seeder -Visible on StartOS 0.4. Adding peerloomllc.com as a custom marketplace on a StartOS 0.4 server showed only PearCircle Seeder. PearCal Seeder now appears there and installs correctly. PearCircle v1.1.0 is out! A peer-to-peer location-sharing app ## What's New in 1.1.0 ### Improvements - You can now see which computers are really protecting your circle. The Seeders screen used to list every computer you had ever approved, whether or not it was actually doing anything. It now separates the ones genuinely holding your circle from the ones that have never checked in, and shows when each was last heard from. A switched-off computer no longer looks like a working one. - Linking a computer to your circles shows its progress. Pairing used to sit silently and look like it had frozen. Now each step is reported as it happens, so you can tell it is working. - Start9 owners can install the seeder from the browser again. Newer Start9 systems refused the older package format. The seeder now ships in a format they accept, so you can add it by drag and drop instead of using the command line. ### Bug Fixes - The seeder's details page on Start9 was blank. It now shows the information it was meant to. - App store listings showed the wrong "what's new" text. Every update was described as a first release. Each version's real notes now appear. ### Security - Your location is always encrypted before it leaves your phone. A timing problem when you first joined a circle could leave one early position unprotected. Link a second phone from Settings and it becomes *you*, not a new person: your spaces, your name and anything assigned to you show up on both. - Your spaces follow you. Join a space on one phone and your other phone picks it up on its own. - One name, everywhere. Set your name once and it stays yours on every phone you have, instead of changing depending on which one you last used. - Save a copy of a space to a file, and open it back later. Handy before wiping a phone or handing one on. - Remove a phone you no longer have. PearPetal v1.0.3 is out! A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud. What's new: This release is about staying connected. PearPetal can now reach your other devices, and your partner's, even on mobile networks that block two phones from talking to each other directly. ##New - Connect anywhere. Some mobile networks will not let two phones connect straight to each other, which could leave pairing or syncing hanging forever with no explanation. PearPetal can now pass the connection through a PeerLoom helper server, but only after a direct connection has already failed. Your cycle data stays scrambled the whole way and the helper cannot read any of it. It can only see that two devices are talking and how much data passes between them. This is on by default, and you can switch it off under Settings, Connect anywhere, which keeps you strictly device to device. - Connection details. Under Connect anywhere you can now see how your phone is really connecting: how many connections it made directly and whether the helper was ever needed. ##Improved - A tidier Settings screen. # PearTune 1.0.0 Your music collection, playable anywhere — without exposing your server to the internet. PearTune plays music straight off a computer you own: an Umbrel, a NAS, an old desktop. Your phone reaches it directly over an encrypted connection. No port forwarding, no VPN, no dynamic DNS, no account, and no copy of your files on anyone else's server. And that machine doesn't have to be yours. If a friend or family member lets you into theirs, their library just appears in your app — no login handed out, nothing copied. ## Getting started 1. Install the host on the machine with your music (macOS, Windows, Linux, Umbrel or Docker). 2. Open the dashboard and point it at your music. 3. Scan the QR code with the app on your phone. That's the setup. ## What you can do Play your library from anywhere. Browse by artist, album, genre or track with artwork, search everything, and play with gapless playback, shuffle, repeat and a sleep timer. Audio keeps going in the background and on the lock screen. Let people in, and cut them off. Give access per person and per device — your phone, your tablet, a friend. Revoke any one of them without disturbing the others, and it takes effect immediately, even mid-song. Guest passes expire on their own after a time you set, with a countdown shown to the guest, so lending your library for a weekend doesn't depend on you remembering. Take music with you. Pin an album to keep it on your phone for a flight or a tunnel. Pick up where you left off. Favourites and resume points follow you between your own devices — a track paused on one is where you left it on another. Starting playback on a second device pauses the first rather than playing twice. Playlists, both the ones you make on your phone and the read-only ones your server already has. Ask for music you can't find. Anyone you've let in can request something, and the owner works through the queue in the app. More than one library at once. If you're let into several, they blend into one. Manage it from your phone. An owner can see every device, pair a new one and revoke any of them without opening the dashboard. ## Your music, wherever it already lives Point the host at an existing Navidrome (or any Subsonic-compatible) server, an existing Jellyfin server, or just a plain folder of music files — PearTune reads the tags itself, so a folder is a real library with artists, albums, years and cover art, not a list of filenames. ## Staying connected Most of the time your phone talks straight to your host. Some mobile carriers and locked-down wifi refuse a direct connection, and PearTune then falls back to a relay run by PeerLoom. The relay only passes along traffic that's already encrypted — it can see that your device is talking to your host and how much data moves, never what's in it, and it keeps no copy. It's on by default and you can turn it off in Settings → Connection. ## Keeping it running On Linux and Windows, the host installs as a proper background service: your library keeps serving after you log out, and starts again by itself when the machine reboots. On macOS it runs while you're signed in. PearTune also tells you when a new version is out, and can update itself with one click. The macOS app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. Windows will show a warning. The Windows installer isn't signed with a certificate yet, so SmartScreen says "unknown publisher" — choose More info → Run anyway. Save a list and start a fresh copy of it whenever you like, instead of typing it out again. Open a list, tap its options and choose "Save as template". After that, "Start from a saved list" appears above where you add lists. The new list arrives with everything unticked and each item already in the right aisle. Saved lists stay on your own phone, so nothing about them reaches anyone else in your household until you start one. ### Connect Anywhere Your phones normally talk straight to each other, but some mobile networks block that, and until now a list you changed while out could sit unsynced until you got home. PearList can now fall back to a PeerLoom relay that passes the scrambled data along, so your lists keep syncing wherever you are. The relay cannot read your lists. It only sees that two devices are talking and how much data went by, and it keeps nothing. It is on by default, and there is a switch in Settings if you would rather stay strictly phone to phone. PearCal v1.0.38 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar What's new: Bug Fixes - Canadian and UK holidays landed on the wrong dates. When a holiday fell on a weekend, it was being moved to the Friday before instead of forward to the next free weekday. The most visible symptom: Boxing Day showing on Christmas Day. Canadian and UK holidays now follow their own rules rather than the US one, so each weekend holiday moves forward to the next weekday nobody else has taken. - Two related date problems came out of the same fix. New Year's Day could render as an invalid date in some years, and two holidays could occasionally claim the same day. Both are fixed, and the dates were checked against the official published lists across 2021 to 2032. - Calendars that already had the wrong dates now fix themselves. Previously you had to switch a holiday calendar off and back on to pick up the corrections. PearPetal v1.0.4 is out! A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud. New - Bring your history from another app. If you have been tracking somewhere else, you can now import your basal temperatures and period days from a file you export from that app. PearPetal reads Apple Health exports and the spreadsheet exports from apps like Samsung Health, Fitbit and Oura. The file is read on your phone and goes nowhere else. Anything you typed yourself is left alone, an import only fills in days you left blank. - Import straight from the Health app (iPhone only). On iPhone you can pull your basal body temperature and period days directly out of Apple Health, with no file to export first. PearPetal asks only for permission to read. It has no permission to write anything back into Health. - A daily flower note. Switch it on and PearPetal sends one short line a day, written in the voice of the garden and matched to where you are in your cycle and to the flower you picked. It is off unless you turn it on, and Discreet mode softens it like every other reminder. Privacy - Your cycle log is no longer part of your phone's automatic cloud backup. iCloud Backup and Google's backup used to be able to copy it. They no longer can, so your logged days, flow, symptoms, notes and temperatures stay on your own devices. Your settings still back up as before. - Settings now says so plainly. Under Backup & restore, PearPetal explains that the phone's own backup does not include your cycle log, and points you at the app's own password-protected backup, which is how to keep a copy you can restore from. Fixed - Setting up no longer overfills your log. Telling PearPetal that your last period started a while back used to mark every single day since then as a bleeding day. It now fills in a normal period length instead. - The daily note and the dial no longer disagree. A peer-to-peer group calendar ## What's Changed ## New Features **Connects on networks that used to block it.** Some mobile networks stop phones from reaching each other directly, and on those networks PearCal simply never connected. Now, after a direct connection has already failed, your devices fall back to a relay run by PeerLoom - a machine that passes the scrambled data along without being able to read any of it. You're in control of this. Profile -> Advanced -> Connection has a switch, "Use a relay when direct fails", on by default. Turn it off and your devices only ever talk to each other directly, at the cost of not connecting at all on a network that blocks them. To be plain about what the relay sees: nothing readable. Your calendar is encrypted the whole way and the relay holds no key. It can tell that two devices are talking and roughly how much, which is true of any relay, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. It stores nothing and it's only ever used as a last resort. ## Bug Fixes **Moving an event between groups no longer makes it disappear.** If you moved an event from one group to another, it vanished from the calendar of the phone you made the change on. Nothing was ever actually lost, and it came back when you reopened the app, but it looked like your event was gone. Fixed. **One notification per change, not three.** A single new event could burst of changes into one summary wasn't working while the app was in the background, which is exactly when you'd get a flood of them. A busy sync now arrives as a single "Calendar updated" line that updates in place. **Rejoining a group that stopped syncing.** In rare cases a device could lose the key to a shared group. It would quietly stop receiving events, and any invite it created would be broken for whoever accepted it. I can definitely do that. TBH iOS gets less testing by me since I main Android, my test iPhone needs updating to latest OS and iOS is harder to work with for p2p stuff. Thanks for pointing this out. Hopefully I can get it tested and fixed in the next day or two.

I also have about that many, and it prompts me to choose one if I don't select "Always" for the top one. See screenshot. Does it do something different for you that causes more friction? Happy to look into it to see if there's an easier way, and I'm open to suggestions. After telling Android to use my top pick (in this case Alby Go) it's a pretty seamless experience, imo
