PearTune v1.0.9 is out!
Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet.
What's new:
- Audiobooks and podcasts made of many files now play in the right order. Before, some folders showed their episodes jumbled, for example episode 300 before episode 1.

PearCircle v1.1.2 is out!
A peer-to-peer location-sharing app
What's new:
### New Features
- **Smaller Places.** Places can now be as small as 50 meters, down from 150. Handy when two Places sit close together, like neighbors or a school next to a park. When you pick a size under 150 meters, the app shows a short warning: a small Place can miss arrivals or report someone leaving when they have not, especially indoors, and iPhones running in the background still notice arrivals and departures at 150 meters.
- **See what your seeder is holding.** The seeder dashboard now shows, for each circle, whose latest location it is keeping for them while their phone is offline. A line turns amber when someone is missing, and a details list shows when each person's location was last stored.
### Improvements
- **Repairs finish on their own.** If a circle repair has to wait, the app now keeps retrying every few seconds while it is open, instead of asking you to close and reopen it.
- **Open the seeder dashboard from another computer.** Mac and Windows seeders can now be reached from other devices on your home network, with step-by-step instructions in the install guides. The setting stays in place when the seeder updates.
- **Start9 updates show up.** Seeders installed from the Start9 store on newer Start9 systems now see new versions as they are released.
### Bug Fixes
- **Mac seeder keeps running after you log out.** It used to stop when you logged out of your Mac, which defeated the point of a seeder. It now keeps going with nobody logged in.
- **Mac seeder starts after a reinstall.** Fixed a case where reinstalling left the seeder quietly switched off.
- **Seeder survives a Start9 system upgrade.** Upgrading a Start9 box could leave the seeder stuck restarting over and over. It now recovers on its own.
- **Working dashboard link for network installs.** A seeder set up to be reachable from other computers now shows a link you can actually open, with its access code included.
### Privacy & Security
- **Leaving a circle clears its data.** When a seeder stops serving a circle, it now deletes the data it was keeping for that circle instead of leaving it on disk.
- **Seeder dashboard locked by default.** Anyone running the seeder's Docker image themselves now needs the access code to open its dashboard. Umbrel and Start9 users are not affected, since those systems already protect it with their own login.

PearTune v1.0.8 is out!
Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet.
What's new:
New Features
- Audiobooks. PearTune now plays audiobooks: m4b and m4a files, or books split into mp3 parts. In the dashboard, tick "Audiobooks" next to a folder and those books get their own Books section, with covers.
- Audiobookshelf support. If you use Audiobookshelf, add it in the dashboard and its books appear in PearTune next to your music. You can listen to them from anywhere without setting up remote access.
- Pick up where you left off. Books remember your place, even near the very end, and a "Continue listening" row takes you straight back. Everyone in your library keeps their own place.
- Chapters. Jump to the next or previous chapter, or choose one from a list. The current chapter shows under the controls.
- Playback speed. Listen to books anywhere from 0.8x to 2x. Music always plays at normal speed.
- Bookmarks. Save a spot in a book with an optional note. Jump back to it from the player or the book's page.
- End-of-chapter sleep timer. The sleep timer can stop playback when the current chapter ends.
Improvements
- Books replace Songs. The Library now shows Genres, Artists, Albums and Books. You can still find individual songs through search, albums and genres.
- Skip sizes. While a book plays, skip back 15 seconds or forward 30. The lock screen follows suit, and music stays at 15 either way.
- Lock screen matches the app. Lock-screen and headphone skips now move 15 seconds, the same as the buttons in the app. Before, they moved 10.
- Player layout. The back and forward buttons now sit at opposite ends of the player's second row.
- Long times. Times over an hour now show hours, e.g. 9:43:41.
- No shuffle for books. Books no longer offer Shuffle, since their parts only make sense in order.
- Scan summary. The dashboard's scan summary now counts your audiobooks.
Good to Know
- Audiobooks need the updated PearTune on your server as well as on your phone.

PearList v1.0.10 is out!
Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server.
What's new:
Bug Fixes
- PearList would not open on some phones. The app clears out old data in the background to save space, and it was removing a little too much. On a phone where that happened, opening PearList gave a black screen, or a black screen with a spinner that never stopped. Restarting the phone did not help, and neither did clearing the app's cache. This is fixed, so it cannot happen again.
- If a space still will not open, PearList now tells you and offers to fix it. Before, a space it could not open looked like a space with nothing in it, which is alarming and easy to misread as your lists having been deleted. It now says what happened and what to do about it. Your lists were never deleted.
- The app no longer sits on a spinner with nothing to say. If the part of PearList that holds your lists fails to start, you get a screen explaining that, with a button to copy the details so you can send them to us.
New Features
- Rebuild a space from another phone in your household. If a space on this phone will not open, PearList offers to copy the lists back from someone else's phone. Open PearList on their phone, leave it on screen, and tap Rebuild. It tries a plain retry first, since a space is sometimes just slow to open and that is usually all it needs.
Improvements
- Tapping a reminder takes you to the item. It used to open the right list and leave you to find the thing you were reminded about, which on a long shopping list is most of the point of the reminder. Now it scrolls to the item and highlights it. If someone has already ticked it off or deleted it, the list still opens and a message says why nothing is highlighted.

PearCinema v1.1.4 is out!
Your film and television collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet.
New Features
• Leave trailers and disc scraps out of your library. Each library now has a minimum length, chosen on the dashboard, and shorter videos are left out. Nothing on your drive is touched, and a button lists everything left out with its length. Files whose length cannot be read count as short, which is what catches the leftover pieces of a ripped disc.
Improvements
• Films now fill the whole screen on phones and tablets. The clock and the on-screen buttons move out of the way while a film plays, and the picture reaches every edge instead of sitting below a black band. Swipe in from an edge to get the buttons back, and everything returns the moment you close the film.
Security
• A show's poster can no longer be fetched by somebody who is not allowed to see that show. Series and season posters were not checked the way film posters were, so a person whose access had been narrowed could still load one they had seen before. The image only, never the film.
• A web page you visit can no longer reach the dashboard running on your own machine. The desktop app leaves its dashboard without a password because it only listens to your own computer, but nothing checked which site a request came from. Now it does, and setups with a password are unchanged.

PearPetal v1.0.6 is out!
A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud.
What's new:
New
- Lock PearPetal with Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's passcode, so your cycle is not open to anyone who picks up your phone. It also hides your cycle in the app switcher, and asks again once you have been away for a minute. Off until you switch it on, in Settings.
- See your cycle history: how long your cycles usually run, how much they vary, how long your periods last, and every cycle you have logged. Tap "Your cycles" on the main screen.
- Correct or remove a period you logged on the wrong date, and add periods from before you started using PearPetal. Under "Your periods" in Settings.
- Erase everything PearPetal holds on this phone, from Settings. It asks twice, and afterwards the app starts fresh as though you had just installed it.
Improved
- Backups now save your tracked conditions, birth control setting, pregnancy mode, your name and your photo, so moving to a new phone keeps all of it. Backups you made before this update do not include them, so it is worth saving a fresh one.
Fixed
- Your partner's cycle no longer stops updating, and the app no longer opens to a blank screen that restarting your phone could not clear. If your app is already stuck, this update fixes it, and it repairs itself the first time you open it near your partner's phone.
- You can log a period at any time of day, wherever you are in the world. In some countries PearPetal used to refuse in the morning, saying the date was in the future.

PearCal v1.0.47 is out!
A peer-to-peer group calendar
What's new:
### ✨ Improvements
- Mexican holidays: Turn on Mexico in Settings > Holidays and your calendar fills in the seven national rest days, plus election day and the presidential
handover in the years they fall. The three holidays that move to a Monday move on their own.
### 🐛 Bug Fixes
- The home-screen widget shows today again: Overnight it kept yesterday's events under today's date, and opening the app once did not always fix it. It
now turns the page at midnight on its own, and keeps a week of days ready so it is never showing the wrong one.
- Blind peers on Start9 start up again: After the StartOS 0.4 update, a blind peer would fail to start and keep restarting because the update moved its
data folder. It now repairs itself and carries on.
- Installing a blind peer on Start9 0.4 works: Install and update were failing with a not-found error. The right package is now published for 0.4 boxes.

PearGuard v1.0.23 is out!
A peer-to-peer parental control app
What's new:
### ✨ New Features
- Allow new apps automatically: a new switch in Settings lets apps your child installs be
allowed straight away instead of waiting for your approval. Off by default, and you are
still told about every new app and can block it.
- Lock for a set time: locking a device now offers 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours as well as
"until I unlock". The device frees itself when the time is up, and both of you can see when
that will be.
- Unpairing no longer throws your rules away. Schedules, limits and blocked apps are kept, so
if you pair the device again you can put them all back from the child's Advanced tab.
- If your phone is lost for good, your child's device is no longer stuck. With your PIN they
can start removing supervision, but it takes a full day, you are told straight away and you
can stop it with one tap.
### ✨ Improvements
- You can now see when a rule change has not reached your child's phone yet. Their card says
it is waiting for the phone instead of looking like everything is up to date.
- A request you have not answered within a day no longer blocks your child from asking again.
They are told nobody answered, and you can still say yes afterwards.
- Uses far less data. Your child's phone no longer sends app icons every time you change a
rule, and no longer resends its entire app list each time it reconnects to you.
- Easier on the battery when your child is offline, and their phone no longer holds on to
stale status updates to deliver later.
### 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Extra time you approve while your child's phone is offline now reaches them. It used to run
out before it arrived, while both screens said it was approved.
- Rule changes stick. Reconnecting could quietly put your rules back to an older version,
re-announce apps as newly installed and leave later changes silently ignored.
- Two changes made at the same moment no longer overwrite each other.
- Alerts survive you being offline. If enforcement was switched off on your child's device,
or they used the PIN while you were unreachable, you hear about it when you reconnect.
- Usage lands on the right day when you and your child are in different time zones. Their most
recent day could be missing from your reports entirely.
- A second parent's PIN is accepted everywhere in the app, not only on the block screen.

PearList v1.0.9 is out!
Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server.
What's new:
- Add an item straight into a section. Every section heading on a list now has a "+". Tap it and whatever you type goes into that section, instead of the app deciding where it belongs and you having to drag it back. Tap the tag above the keyboard to change your mind.

PearTune v1.0.7 is out!
Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet.
What's new:
New Features
- Owners can now choose which folders each person is allowed to hear. Tick the folders on the People page and the rest of the library disappears for them - not listed, not searchable, not playable. It takes effect straight away, even mid-song. (Folder libraries only for now.)
- If your access to a library is taken away, your phone now says so plainly instead of looking like the library is offline.
- The library dashboard has a button to sign out every other browser, so a laptop you handed back stops being signed in.
Improvements
- Skipping or scrubbing a track no longer keeps the library sending music you already skipped past. Less work for the server and less mobile data for you.
- If you asked several libraries for the same song, answering it in one now clears it from the others instead of leaving it looking pending forever.
- Renaming someone in the dashboard no longer overwrites the name their own device chose.
- Moving a device to a different person now reaches that device immediately, without waiting for it to reconnect.
Security
- A website open in your browser can no longer send commands to a library dashboard running on the same computer.
- The app now only opens ordinary web, email and payment links, and asks for the camera and nothing else.
- The library's private key and dashboard password files are re-locked every time they are read, so a copy restored from a backup cannot arrive readable
Bug Fixes
- When restoring your last listening session fails, the app now tells you instead of silently doing nothing.
