When it was unusually cold earlier this month you didn't hear anyone when I was walking in winter clothes in my house. But now its climate change fear propaganda everywhere. Nobody denies the climate changes, it has forever and its not the warmest its ever been in europe historically. Doesn't mean all these things they wanna push through on the green energy front are good ideas or that we should give up our freedom / resources to do anything. Instead people miss the real solutions, making energy gaining as efficient / cheap as possible. Without spewing pollutants in the air. But in a country where they abandon the highly clean gas grid in favor of burning trees (Because burning tree's is considered green somehow) while germany is instead transitioning towards gas I just can't take any of their solutions seriously. And if your solutions are that braindead, I don't believe you actually believe what you preach.

The difference is that the current infra has either centralized dependencies or requires you to setup your own rtmp server. Compared to other platforms this will be to difficult or costly to adopt nostr streaming. If they can stream eaaily to a large audience for free on other platforms it will be a hard sell here. On the other side of the coin people like grinder who do pay for their own rtmp server are regionalized so it may lag in other continents. If there is innovation in the space where its a shift to peer to peer casting this would help solve those issues. The rtmp streams scale better, and if it were to be possible to do self hosted easily then it will help people do it.

both of you are nostr tech pioneers right? I think there is an unsolved problem with nostr livestreaming, anyone should be able to do it with just a browser for free in a way that can scale. So I was wondering if something like https://demo.cdnbye.com/ nostrfied would work as a protocol. Someone streams directly in their app / browser to a webrtc room, the viewers help seed the content to make it scale. Infra wise that can hopefully be very lightweight so that anyone can put up a basic webrtc server to facilitate it.

They don't actually, they used to but the latest mistrals have been lacking. People in our LLM community do like them for finetuning but then often use the older mistrals and only for entertainment. For anything remotely serious its gemma and qwen neither of which are european. It may correlate with the european AI act that forces companies to only tune on licensed data, less data is a worse model and its noticable at least on the fiction side of things.
