I think its not whats coming but what has happened. They tried to implement a massive ID control grid and despite controlling the narrative with anything they could the open internet STILL managed to counter the narrative making their plans fail in ways they didn't expect. Any event in the past that caused this increases them wanting to implement these measures faster as they are loosing ground. First time I really saw it happen is when Trump won the election in 2016. Shortly after the algorythms shifted away from popular content to "trusted sources". When Biden became president and it became apparent nobody liked him due to mass disliking of the videos they took the like button away. And now we all succesfully stood up against the lockdowns they want to be able to silence dissent even more.

They already tamper so much with their search and algorythm anyway that for anything newsworthy the search is useless.

Its your GPU that matters. KoboldCpp (based on llamacpp) can do it regardless though. You want to use its high priority mode because otherwise it may use your e-cores and performance tanks. Now if you have a GPU I recommend a Q4_K_S model that fully fits your GPU in file size. Keep in mind context also takes up space. So for 8GB of vram no higher than 11B Q4_K_S at like 4K context. For 12GB that becomes 13B. For 16GB its up to 20B + Mistrals 24B. 24GB its 30B. If you dont it depends a lot at what speeds you can tollerate but Gemma 3N may be a good starting point.

I figured and thats good as thats meta data safe to my knowledge. But if a client doesn't support it the receiving user just won't see anything despite it being sent succesfully and despite it being seen if they installed a good client.

I have a retro PC build which has a retro PC partition. One I can highly recommend is knoppix. My 2005 era retro PC runs Knoppix 4.0. Its a linux live cd loaded with period correct software. There is a hidden knoppix-installer command which can put it on a disk partiton. Installed the nvidia run file on top and that was basically all it needed for period correct retro Linux.

how desirable is occational hosting? I already host on the free AI Horde sometimes but #KoboldCpp gives priority to regular generations. If I put a machine on running a local AI model thats not even on your platform I can only do so for a little at a time which will make availability fluctuate. "Yes, please do our users expect it" Or "No, there are minimum hosting requirements (to earn rewards)

The pro vaxx crowd never understood that because of these known issues with vaccines people did not want to take them. Now he is banning the unsafe ones thats the best step towards trust which doesn't mean your now less safe. Benefit off my job is me knowing what spyware is being pushed as I automate everything. To my knowledge its only our remote control software that tracks whats installed on the machine. It can do much more like uninvited screen takeovers file stealing, remote shell, etc. But often those kind of RMM tools have a privacy mode. Ours they user can opt in to that mode, except thanks to my policy they are forcefully opted in and have to manually turn it off for X hours. Otherwise it asks them for consent before we can get remote control, visuals, etc. Very standard practise and we dont use it to spy in our department. We just use it to monitor nothing bad gets put on the machine, push updates, check if your disk is almost full so you dont get stuck, etc. Basically typical sysadmin stuff. Its like this in every company I worked for.

But I moved to a US based homeserver (https://matrix.unredacted.org) whivh has an anticensorship stance. So now the UK safety act can't touch me again. Same thing here. One of the media hosts here is going to comply. But most of the blossum instances aren't. So do your fellow nostriches a favor and switch to a blossum instance for media.

I'm pretty new to Nostr so I didn't set that up yet neither do I have an app that can act as such a wallet.

Ask yourself why they do it. And if your uncertain and good at it you can craft a situation or organically have a situation where you can force their hand at revealing themselves. For example lets say someone is always making an excuse for something. You can then remove the excuse and if they still refuse that shows true character. If the excuse was genuine they will be glad its removed. And most importantly, don't just look at how they treat you look at how they treat everyone else and if thats consistent.

How do relays work on nostr? Do they forward messages between each other or is the goal to just be on multiple at once with you being isolated to those with the same relays as you? #asknostr

At least its more shielded than other platforms that fell victim to this because people can use multiple relays at once. If primal went rogue and decoupled they can login to their ID on anything else which they can then continue to use seamlessly. That kinda stuff wasn't possible on mastodon which allowed gab to decouple.
