Okay, but I think there are probably ways of doing it (more slowly perhaps) without causing such extreme hardship.

So you would be okay if you had a drop in salary that meant you'd have to start looking through the trash to eat? So long as the headline figures were okay? I think the well being of everyone is more important than the inflation figure going down.

Is the only important thing the figures? I wonder about real, ordinary people who have suffered to achieve it.
