MOKA POT SERIES, oil on canvas Four small-format oil paintings, made from life. They come from a simple place: to exist, to practice, to sharpen the craft. Painting from life means translating a shifting, three-dimensional reality into a two-dimensional surface. It means facing a subject that never stays still. The light changes, time moves, and you arrive differently each day, sometimes with energy, sometimes tired, sometimes focused, sometimes distracted. All of that finds its way into the painting. That constant movement, that instability, is what ultimately gives them life. These works were made with the support of my friend and amazing chilean painter Luna Morgana, who has been an important guide in my return to oil painting.
