Insurance is really a penalty placed on chronically ill and families to play the game, or for those planning to start a family or those wanting to hedge the risk of developing debilitating disease. Sadly, having to play the insurance game for peace of mind probably leads to heightened stress and worsened health outcomes to boot. My advice is do what you can to keep yourself healthy independent of the medical system and insurance. Hospitals, urgent cares and insurance are a last resort.
