I won't lie to you, the Venezuelan economy is an absolute mess, which is why being accountable is so complicated, but I'll do my best to explain what we've done with this first collection of donations: 1. The first amount is the zaps we collected: 64,557 sats (minus 196 transaction fees). 2. We converted those sats to USDT through Binance, obtaining 40.83 USDT. 3. This purchase was made in Bolivars, so we used Binance's P2P service to exchange them for Bolivars, converting 40.96 for a total of 30,700 Bs. 4. Regarding the cost of the crayons, there was a promotion of 3 boxes for 2.50$ We bought 18 of these "kits," so it came to $45 plus $1 for delivery, for a total of $46. 5. This is where it gets complicated. Since we were paying in Bolivars, the exchange rate is dictated by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), so $46 is 30,684.30 Bs. Yes, there is a difference between the USDT and the BCV dollar (because the BCV is controlled by the dictatorship and the USDT is not). If any of the donors want more information about their donation, I'd be happy to explain further. Again, I apologize for the complexity; dictatorships are complicated.
