Years ago I started painting this way. It’s evolved a little, but it’s basically the same elements: Strong composition. Unembellished colour. Purposeful edge content. Restricted techniques. Referential perspectives. No impasto, no sheen. This one is from a decade ago. Looking at it now, I can see what I was already refusing to do - no fancy brushmarks, no decorative colour, no lazy edges. The painting has a feeling to it. When I paint ; it comes across as my signature ‘Wet socks and a rock in my shoe’ style. #artstr #art #painting #style #nostrartist #artist #themarkpenney

New phone day! I picked up a iPhone 17pro max 512GB. The phone it replaced worked well for 5 years. A big new screen and big new battery is nice, not gonna lie. Couldn’t see getting into a big budget phone. Impressive tech but the price is at a premium. The next couple of years tech may change so radically it’s had to see investing in newest gen devices unless they meet your needs better. My take : buy the device that does what you need it to do as cost effectively as possible. #iphone #17promax #new #apple #tech
