Note: All intel chips. DYOR for Apple silicon. The T2 chip is easy to bypass on the Air.
Multiple: 2011 Macbook pro (theLab), 2020 Macbook Air, and a MiniPC with Intel. Flawless across all of them.
GM! And agree! Omarchy Quatro just gave me the ability to customize my os and whip out tools like nobody’s business. The open design of Linux combined with the AI power to extend, modify, bend and flex is mind melting. The lack of forced ‘clicky-clicky’ is a huge win for me. Key-binding layers was always too much for me. OQ keeps it flat and fun. The minimalist approach of Arch and Hyperland makes it a complete joy. Never thought I’d be okay with just one monitor again. Outstanding.
Nah.
Omarchy has made working in Linux an extreme joy. Kinda shitting myself here. With AI integration, problems are handed off and resolved. I still capitalize on learnings, but when an issue comes up I’m not in the “What-the-fuck-do-I-do-now camp.” Manual minutiae and grunt work handed off to my assistant. Run diagnostics. Make the system better. Keep working. A show-stopper for days turns into a 15-minute inconvenience.
What I do like about Omarchy is that it allows one (me in this case) to examine how I want to work in a very technically complex environment, Arch, and utilize AI to optimize how I want to work, while understanding and accepting the computer’s view of how it works at a lower level, to optimize the workspace to the frame I desire. It’s still early. It’s not ‘trusted’ yet. I treat it as a sandbox of Legos. It’s fun problem-solving with AI integrated turbo.
There is no magic prompt. The prompt cannot help you. You must do the work.
Makes sense.
