Good question and I completely agree. Slow and steady wins the race but obviously there's more urgency here than usual. For most hardware wallets that offer dice rolls its pretty straight forward as you just input the dice rolls into the device. You should roll a dummy wallet first so you can verify that the seed the device gives you is authentic, before you roll your actual seed. And of course never ever put any part of your actual seed online or an internet connected machine. My heart goes out to anyone affected by the coldcard fiasco. I'd be shitting it if I had a seed generated by any device right now! Imagine trying to learn about dice rolls, entropy etc, in a panic, probably loads of people will fuck it up and loose their bitcoin by making a mistake! So sad that people's life saving will get wiped out. I think eventually, the silver lining is that it will harden bitcoiners even more and force them to be more self sovereign and learn about entropy and dice rolls etc. Everything is good for Bitcoin as they say, even if its not obvious straight away. But many paper hands will sadly just sell, or move custody to an exchange or ibit or some bullshit. Stay self sovereign folks. Don't trust, verify. Help other Bitcoiners.
