Timestamp: 912236 My local Bitcoin meetup is unique from other Bitcoin meetups. We are a small group of researchers and knowledgeable individuals with various backgrounds. In our spare time, we challenge ourselves to work on real problems and how Bitcoin could be used to solve them. Surrounding local meetups do not always understand, which I am seeing the same underlying themes from my dissertation research related to lack of understanding with most individuals within society. I am just as challenged with other meetups, but I learn a lot from my peers. I would not have it any other way because these are my friends and we are stronger. There are two common things in our global society that bring our unique groups together and those are Bitcoin and Freedom, which is where Bitcoin Freedom Society came from. We are just as decentralized as the blockchain itself. Bitcoin is permissionless and does not need permission to be here. Just as I do not need permission to participate with Bitcoin and have ownership rights. I have spent countless research hours attempting to see if Bitcoin has purpose beyond just economics because it has made such a tremendous impact in my life. That impact is all of the close friends in this space I have developed. We owe it to ourselves as Bitcoiners to work in unification and not siloed groups. Only time will tell if I am correct or incorrect. This is my timestamp of freedom as a researcher speaking freely to my Bitcoiners.
