I don’t think this type of thinking is up for much debate. I respect your opinion but disagree. I am not godless. There are multiple similar comments on the Bible by which my viewpoint is framed but this is one: “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Damn.

I don’t believe I’m doing magical thinking, I just try to stay true to what is right in my mind. And pinpointing the death of one on the collective of another when that exact mindset fuels nothing but more hate and rage doesn’t seem right to me.

Culpability resides in the individuals responsible as well as a growing passion in hating a collective of individuals in society. Whether that be left hating right or right hating left. Calling out the death of one individual as the responsibility of a collective of many isn’t reality in the slightest.

This type of thinking only increases the divide, imo.
