He was being interviewed on a show by some Lutheran so impressed by his work that the interviewer got the impression that the Bible is to not be trusted at all due to all the errors. Bart clearly gives this impression but when pressed, he admits that it is what it is. There are tons of manuscripts which is the reason there are so many small and almost always insignificant variations. I have not read his books but have listened to a couple of his debates. One of which, put on by the founder of the Ehrman Project.

Honestly, Ehrman is lame. He was asked what the Bible likely really said…. Shocker, his answer was that it would have looked pretty much like any of the Bibles now. He’s pretty much a troll at this point.

Okay, but are there specific words that are more likely to be big, stick etc.? If not, they’re roughly equally likely to be chosen, therefore it’s random. The only rational argument I can see is if you don’t properly mix the papers. I call BS on those papers.

If God doesn’t exist there are no moral absolutes, just flavors, opinions and preferences. No oughts or right and wrongs.
