I was a bit wrong. What I posted is the spray recipe I used sparingly on the rose bush. I must have pulled that from an old timer on the internet. Here is the original recipe.

I'll see if I can find the original recipe. Basically water, whiskey, ammonia, Epson salt and detergent. At least that is what I remember. I'll see if I can find the exact ratios. In the spray, I used 1 part whiskey and 5 parts water and much smaller amounts of detergent, ammonia and epson salt. I was not too scientific when I mixed it.

#flowerstr I planted this rose bush a quarter century ago. At the time, my mother-in-law gave me a whiskey fertilizer recipe. I used it when I planted the root. This year, I used a variation of the recipe to make a bug spray. The bugs are nasty since we live at the edge of a state forrest. The rose; she really likes Jim Beam.
