The word 'fragrance' on a skincare label is a legal black hole. Manufacturers aren't required to disclose what's in a fragrance blend. It can contain hundreds of individual synthetic compounds. Some are endocrine disruptors. Some are known irritants. The FDA doesn't require them to tell you which ones.
