AN ELEMENT OF WHIMSY There are some essential things that seem unimportant or extraneous—as if they merely add beauty to the scene—but, in fact, they are deceptively fundamental. Whimsy is like that. i agree with you re: influenzers & the democracy hype—i do not like the idea of blackrock and NoStrategy being well positioned to hoover up resources in africa; i am not into the alden type of folks. not that blockchains have borders but africa should develop its own. however, a public ledger is not necessarily a bad thing: governments having a public ledger would be good for citizens. we should know what they are up to; they should not be privy to our affairs. right now that is reversed and leads to tension, anger, & dysfunction. the ledger for bitcoin is public; the “wallet” or rather matching who owns what *can be* private. but there is interference, such as recently a guy who developed a private “wallet” (i don’t like this term it is misleading) was just put in prison (saw him interviewed on kim iversen; seemed like a normal guy to me ). as for monero, i have not looked into it. as i heard about it from mcafee who looked on drugs talking about it, i do not have a good impression. important thing for a currency is for many people to adopt it, accept it, exchange in it. and yes, most people are lazy. they do what is easiest and most accessible without much thought as to the meaning & purpose behind it.
