that’s because it is so hard to do but it gives one strategic advantages
this is what roosevelt used to end gold coinage, possess americans’ gold and put in hands of federal reservists, suspend banking etc—> president can control banking & currency transactions in times of war, still in effect—> On October 6, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson signed the Trading with the Enemy Act (TWEA) (40 Stat. 411). https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title50/chapter53&edition=prelim
awareness of one’s own stupidity is the ultimate intelligence hack.
THEY THEM STRATAGEMS another possibility is that “they” think “they” don’t need military bases in west asia/middle east anymore & this is just a way to withdraw while doing max damage in the process, rather than just withdrawing & leaving valuable gear onsite that the “enemy” could use. this would include the entire country of israel which is pretty much a large military base. that is the sense i got when i visited—even the civilian architecture looked panopticon-ish. but that theory would imply “they” can control societies merely through data and lasers etc; problem being the resistance can blow up data centers. solution: put them in space, which el-on suggests. harder for the plebs to blow them up. but is it? given sophistication now of printers, accessibility of ai, and further, sophisticated global militaries not on board with “the agenda” probably even those nir outerspace data centers and laser sites can easily be liquidated. i don’t see the melty-faced-technocrats-desperately-in-need-of-one-drop-of-human-melanin winning this, myself. messy humans for the win. 🏆
tho the article is written by an accounting expert i would say not an accident it is coming from jerusalem which is suffering some serious accounting errors atm
such a good point: we’re all familiar with the overconfidence of ai (big tip off in the voices btw, to determine artificiality), but observing that it is never silent, does not ignore you, never expresses a lack of interest, always engages and how all that messy humanness communicates crucial information that leads to deploying market & business decisions…hey wait: did the U.S. admin fire every military & diplomat that resisted (yes!) & rely on ai (probably!) to plan out this iran invasion? very hegsethian confident! very hegsethian wrong. and costing not merely the loss of this one war but the loss of strategic military positioning over half the globe, therefore losing innumerable FUTURE wars as well. so much for predictive modelling…they are trotting out thiel & karp again but we all know palantir lost this war. won’t admit it though but we all know.
anyone notice we are sliding back into the “community censorship” phase like during kovfefe? not the digital one online, the one where your associates start to tell you what & what not discuss…
