I've no idea how one does that. I have basically kept it to, yes, visiting the feed for the shortest scroll, engage with what I see in that one short scroll, follow someone with a quality reply, visit their profile page, I mean, I actually do visit their profile page!!! Like... I'm a gen Xer actually behaving like a boomer!!! Then I write a note of my own to share my artwork, &, well, my needs for prayer!

I am an enemy of #TheFeed -------------- Please, #ProoveMeWrong. Being #right, lately, about anything continues to leave me in #pain for the path #humanity in general is following. I worry about what I am experiencing with #Nostr. Underline "I am experiencing." What you experience may be different. Whether it is because I am aging a lot faster than women my age, my personal physical, mental, spiritual, familial crises; or the fact that I have never fit in ANYWHERE throughout my entire life... I am noticing the same pattern I've seen on "normie" platforms coming to a nostr client near you... The fact that so many of us have so much to say, will fight for such, but then what's said either falls on deaf ears, or on dried up fields where our seeds are picked up by the birds going non-germinated, can be disheartening & thoroughly isolating. I'm sad by the fact that now that Nostr is gaining traction, it is starting to feel like yet another FEED. I honestly have never liked the concept of a feed. One feeds farm animals so we can eat them . The FEED becomes this laziness tool equivalent to the FWD FWD FWD email chains of the 1990's. At least then there was a little greater effort. We went from not visiting, to not writing letters/postcards, to not phone calling, to not emailing directly, to not texting, to not visiting directly the profile pages of those who we "follow" or "follow us" because we've decided to rely on THE FEED. The feed has taught us to crave connection that you will not get unless you play by the FEED's rules and pay what wants you to pay, only to then also DECIDE 4us what we see, what we read, & who we can connect with by the almighty & all knowing algorithm which we choose to believe is a neutral or benign entity which wouldn't harm us ever. The Feed is truly the antithesis to what we thought the benefit of the internet was going to be. Hate me for this #UnpopularTake ? It's not like I don't think it can be resolved. Exorcise the spirit of #sloth that inhabits in the #convenience of the feed. Interact with one another. Yes, I know, some folks will say, "well, we can't interact with everybody, blah, blah, blah..." That is true, but it also means you're choosing "stardom," using your elevated speaker phone, over forming thick & solid connections. We can't connect with everybody, but we can connect with some. Honest? It's also the nature of the beast. the whole concept of an endless feed trains every single one of us into a race to the bottom. "Gotta pump more content so I don't get buried..." not even realizing that everyone else is doing the same, and soon enough, even our own notes are competing with our own notes by de facto. I hate the fact that all of these platforms, including nostr clients, are built to only showcase new/latest. There is no real discovery that way. There is no evergreen nor depth. I'm old enough to remember when my mom, MY MOM, was the 1 who got me to use facebook cuz she was in it. It had become the only way I could be in touch with her as we lived thousands of miles away from each other & long distance calls were billed BY THE MINUTE!! Back then, there was NO FEED. There was only "Walls" and each wall had a directory of "friends." If you wanted to see what your "friends" were sharing, you visited their walls. If you wanted to brighten their day, you WROTE ON THEIR WALLS. As much as I despise facebook now & have always hated Zuckerberg, had it not been for him, my mom & I wouldn't have been able to communicate as often as I was blessed to & had the privilege to do while she was still alive. All of these platforms would improve 1000X if they eliminated their FEEDS. There should be only one main feed: new user introductions, & one side feed that shows the users you have chosen to follow (which you came to know from the introduction feed) with new note statuses: (our Icon, username, an online/offline status circle & another circle denoting they have updated "their wall" with a new note). This would open up nostr clients to create "groups" instead of having to rely on hellthreads. Especially now when every client has killed hellthread notifications. Sorry for the lengthy reply note. I just don't understand why the feed model continues to be the one and only model. This is what killed the internet dream of the 90's.
