add a third option... carbon steel. I was a cast iron maxi, but it now hangs on a nail. carbon steel is the bridge-builder our community needs.
I honor you for this Matt. I too want to be the best husband and father. How do we get there?... there is one goal even bigger that will set the foundation for our fatherhood... "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (King Jesus)
thank you for sharing this. My path has been very similar. Colossians 1:13-14 was key in my thought process. There is no neutral ground between the two kingdoms. Dr Greg Bahnsen gave an amazing lecture that is preserved on YouTube called The Myth of Neutrality.
I find myself bouncing back and forth between optimistic amillinialism and pessimistic postmillennialism.
Thank you for sharing. So true! and yet I find my twisted heart often loving self. My prayer for myself and my children is this... "for me to live is Christ...".
thank you for this note Walker! "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..." (Saint Paul)
I agree, but what is at the root of the problem? "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..."
"Will what is molded say to its molder, 'Why have you made me like this?' Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?" (Romans 11)
Done! I really appreciate your kindness.
we have never met, buy I enjoy your posts. I have read several of the books on your list, but the silver books look interesting and new to me.
it has much better heat retention than stainless and is much lighter than cast iron. I do love a smooth old cast iron pan, but carbon steel is easier for me for everyday use. I hope this is helpful.
