From everything I've seen in the code reviews, it's complete negligence on Coinkite. This shit is completely unacceptable. The pain this has caused to the thousands of people who lost everything and the damage to the Bitcoin community for promoting these products will take years to recover from. The "not your keys, not your Bitcoin" ethos has been tarnished.... But we will recover, hopefully without NVKs blowhard arrogance and input. Sorry, very bitter and hurt by this betrayal.

I think there's going to be a major disruption among the influencer class in Bitcoin. Our "heroes" will be culled. "Trust but verify" must be restored and adhered to. Humility and personal responsibility is required. The days of "trust me, bro" in Bitcoin are over. Most have lost living by this ethos and have become fat and comfortable on influence, fame, power, and Fiat/Bitcoin. None are safe or excused from accountability. We must demand more transparency and verification from all who work in or around the Bitcoin network - IN ALL FORMS! OPEN SOURCE EVERYTHING - No excuses and no compromises
