A nostr-based weather app for the home-steaders among us Nostriches: It takes my approximate GPS-position and generates a list of n additional positions which is encrypted with the npub of the relay, which then queries the weather-data provider (e.g. https://open-meteo.com), the resulting data is encrypted by the relay with the npub of the origin (npub of the user) and the local app, the only instance knowing my real position, shows the weather forecast requested. At open-meteo.com 10.000 daily API-Calls are free. As this number easily exceeded by a a bunch of relays, paying this service might be done with zapping. open-meteo.com might even Sats, directly. TBC Relay-side, several relays could negociate which random relay executes the API call. Use of the relay should hide the original IP to the data provider. Open-meteo provides quite accurate forecast data. Some of my farmer friends rely on it for over a year now and are quite happy with it.

Ich muss leider auf die iOS Version warten, verfolge aber zwei der Communities in Telegram mit. Es scheint noch nicht sooo viel benutzt zu werden. Der Vorteil scheint mir die Geschwindigkeit zu sein um kleine Mengen für die Lightningbörse zu erwerben (such lokal gegen Bargeld), ohne einen Output auf der Blockchain zu generieren. Der andere Vorteil wäre für mich Beträge <200$ (oder welche Grenze auch immer) über Lightning zu sammeln und sie dann einen größeren Betrag in ein einziges UTXO auf die Blockchain zu übertragen, wenn man das dann hodlen möchte. Ich bin auch erst eineinhalb Jahren orange-pilled und noch ziemlich grün hinter den Ohren. Mir fehlt hier ein lokaker Stammtisch von echten Bitcoinern, vielleicht sind meine Ideen auch völlig daneben. merely my 5 sats. 😊

Bei Bisq, Bisq2 und Co müssten seitdem die Drähte heiß glühen. Vielleicht braucht ihr bald eine Community in Deutschland (und den Nachbarländern). Both has its place. To remain with the example. I can go and go with my horses where I never could go with my car. But with my car I can move farer and faster. My horses work without fuel (I am right now in a country where it occasionally happens that you have to queue up for fuel.) My horses find their fuel themselves. I am just glad to have both.
