GM. Nothing like a glorious night of sleep in your own bed after 5 weeks on the road.

I am currently experiencing one of the most hilarious and also insane experiences with traffic in my life. Washington state Department of transportation closed the highway for the weekend for construction, which they’ve been doing on and off for the last three years with the goal to add a toll lane. They are not even expanding the highway. So I got in my car and what is normally a 17 minute drive was supposed to be 32. Problem is, myself and literally thousands of other cars all trusted Google Maps, which shows the highway is open for several exits where it is not. So I’ve now been in the car for an hour and I’m still not even close to my destination. Peak sheep activity and I am part of it today!

Got the VIP treatment from TSA in Palm Springs this morning. “Random” search led to 30 minutes of pulling every single item out of my bag at a snail pace, swabbing everything… These people are just bullies, they don’t do anything to keep us safe. Kept my cool, was nothing but respectful. It was a good test of patience. Flight was already boarding by the time I made it to the gate.

One takeaway from FinCon 2026: Finance people need to learn about bitcoin, and bitcoiners need to learn about finance.
