Don’t try and convince him. Save a small amount regularly for him and when he’s ready and ‘gets it’, or when fiat goes totally mental, you’ll have a starter amount ready to send.

Nah. This says more about the OP than a whole generation. My kids are Gen Z and they’ve been to plenty. I’m in the UK though, which is a failed state, so that could explain it.
