is there a reason (I guess there probably is) you have stopped posting the CakePay ratios? I loved having one more datapoint for looking at #Monero 's usage compared to other cryptos. If I can wish for something this Christmas I wish for regular CakePay statistics 🧡

Monero had dynamic block sizes from the start, while BCH only adopted them very recently. So you should move that point to Monero ;)

For someone that got into crypto a year ago that wouldn't be true. (BTC - 10%, XMR +100%) Not everyone is in crypto since 2010. Privacy in BTC is expensive and cumbersome. Privacy in Monero is cheap and easy to use. More and more people realize this, that's why Monero displaced BTC on darknet markets and also rivals it on legal markets (for some numbers on that check the following message from me: )

So you either are using a custodial LN setup (at which point you could just use PayPal/Venmo to pay for this stuff) or if you actually use a Delft custodial solution your setup is much more complicated and less reliable then just using Monero. Either way, you payed more then a cent for your transaction (most likely), so you payed much more than me ;)

With higher fees and less privacy, yes.

Are you aware that you can buy gift cards anonymously and pay for groceries with that?

Yes, Monero has no hard so for the supply as Bitcoin. It had an emission curve with a tail emission following after that. But why isn't that a problem and more of a feature? Let me explain: Bitcoin has a long term security budget problem, while Monero has that part secured (thanks to the fixed block reward of 0.6 XMR), but the tradeoff is a asymptotically reducing inflation rate that's approaching 0%, but never reaches actual 0% inflation rate as Bitcoin does in the year 2140. Currently the inflation rates are basically the same for both (BTC 0.82% vs XMR 0.85%), but in the year 2140 BTC's will be 0%, while XMR's will be at ~0.43% per year. And the Austrian school of economics doesn't say, the supply of a currency has to be completely fixed. About the network effect: I tend to agree that Bitcoin's network effect is larger currently, but then again what exactly do you mean by that? Because BTC was first used on the darknet markets. That is basically what made it what it is today. XMR is the only currency that was able to displace BTC there. And basically every business that accepts BTC and XMR, that publishes it's usage statistics, shows that Monero rivals Bitcoin's use, even though Bitcoin's network effect is much, much greater. Can you please elaborate more on how they have the power to completely block me vs the same situation under BTC? What would those bigger problems be? And no, Monero is not perfect. But it's the best overall design that currently is able to deliver useful safety/privacy to the people that need it.

Bitcoin with all of these already exists, it's called #Monero

I just link you another message of mine, where I explain the supply/inflation of Monero:

You promote easy to use privacy with GrapheneOS and Mullvad already. If you change your recommendation about crypto to Monero it would be more consistent 😜 But anyway, I wholeheartedly agree 🔥
