The applewood butcherblock top for the island is finally completed! From cutting 11 trunks in nearby Adams County, one of the big apple producing regions in the country, loading them on the pickup, taking it to get cut up at the mill, waiting for it to dry, and then joining and planing down all the pieces, gluing them up, sanding them down, and applying the finish, it is a true test of low time preference that paid off. I think it is cool having such a unique piece made from a local and regionally, economically significant product. #woodworking
