What’s depressing me is that so many people think age verification is a good idea and they are supporting it. The creep of authoritarianism knows no bounds. However it’s this kind of thing that drives reasonable people to discover FOSS, VPNs, nostr and other freedom tech.

Same here. Pellet smokers are not that common in the UK, but my local garden centre happens to stock them. Looking at one of the double walled models because it’s chilly here in the winter.
