Wow. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GPTY6l_PX5k

✨Conspiracy theory✨ Core wants to diversify client implementations. 1. Force a Core change through without consensus, alienating many users 2. Users protest by running modified Core 3. Modified Core dev discusses hard fork (or people pretend he does) 4. Knots users protest by moving to another modified Core or Knots 5. There are 3 competing node implementations 6. ??? 7. Profit (ossification) Note: This is unlikely true.

A flawed analogy. Node runners are not the general public, although it is a spectrum, so more like sub-station operator or lineman. Still a flawed analogy… The key part is not the engineering (I’m tired of repeating this). It’s more like a government which was previously serving the public but then began to serve corporate interests. People hate that shit.

Servers have rights too 🤖

It’s better UX

Never mind the ingredients, I can’t get past the non-stick/plastic poison factory it’s cooked in.

Unity, this is the way.

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

Ok…

Good to know. What about the other parts?

I don’t think you’re in on some grand conspiracy, but the fact you won’t consider (publicly at least) the issues that aren’t filter related is… 🤔 Is it that: - You don’t want to risk your future Core contributions being rejected for not towing the line? - You want to keep the argument centered on filters so it’s easy to dismiss Knots as stupid? - You know something we don’t? It doesn’t need to be that all Core devs are in on it. There’s enough concern just with Todd, Lopp and Citrea and the way it seems hastily forced through despite objections. As I said before:

“As someone witnesssing this space for 15 years it's clear that Bitcoin has always been in the cross hair of intelligence operations. Live with it. Demand maximum transparency from all parties and only move forward on good arguments.”
