#nostur Hello, I (think) I have vibecoded a way to display a youtube video link of a song with timed scrolling lyrics in the window with the youtube render... but it seems the clients do not have the text-track render activated in Kind 1 notes... can you check out this quoted thread for the feature request text in the replies and tell me if this would be possible to fix/add ? I think this would be a really cool feature for clients - being able to post a youtube link with scrolling lyrics right there in the feed... Please let me know if this is possible... Thanks!

Title: Render text-track on kind 1 notes (timed lyrics/subtitles for linked media) Body: Clients already render rich previews for links in kind 1 notes via NIP-92 imeta tags. This request is to add one field on top of that: a timed text track for the linked media. Proposal: honor a text-track tag on kind 1 notes, pointing at a WebVTT file: Copy Code ["text-track", "https://example.com/track.vtt"] This mirrors the text-track tag already defined in NIP-71 for video events (https://nips.nostr.com/71), applied to kind 1 so it works in feeds — where users actually are. Why it's a small ask: clients already parse imeta and render link previews. This is one additional tag → fetch a VTT → render cues. No new event kind, no new feed logic. Use case: sharing a song — a YouTube/audio link plus scrolling, time-synced lyrics. Common on other platforms; not currently possible on Nostr. Requested behavior: If a kind 1 note has a text-track tag, fetch the VTT. Render cues synced to playback — a subtitle toggle, or a scrolling lyrics pane. Implementation notes: The VTT may be served as text/plain rather than text/vtt; parse the bytes rather than rejecting on MIME. For YouTube embeds, a element can't overlay the player — poll getCurrentTime() via the YouTube IFrame API and match cues yourself. Reference implementation exists for NIP-71 text-track: Amethyst (per https://github.com/nostrability/nostrability/issues/242). The parsing/rendering logic is reusable.
