Do you think the established team and peer review are more important than the actual functionality of the software? I'd love all the software I use to have the best possible team behind it, but for me the primary factor when deciding what software to run is does it do what I want it to do. Only when two alternatives are equivalent in terms of functionality are secondary factors relevant. Core and knots are not functionally equivalent. Knots does what I want and core doesn't so it's my best option at the moment.
