I graduated high school with a 1.6 GPA I am proud of this fact.

America is a nation that began with soaring dreams of freedom and self-creation, then over time it was tested and fractured by money, race, war, desire, and technology, until it was forced to confront whether it still believed in the meaning of its own promise. We were still partying all the way up until the Great Recession. 2007 is the peak of hook up culture for instance. I personally had a fucking amazing time from 2004-2008 lol 😂

Sometimes I’ll space out and this recurring thought will play in my mind. About the Belle Époque that was the 90’s and 2000’s. About how it was unceremoniously ripped away and about how the desire to take it back by force will lead to an American dictator. I think about how those who are coming of age now never really knew the beautiful era. They only knew the dismal downturn. But millennial politics are largely driven by a deep unconscious desire to return to the 90’s. And so if American Hitler/stalin/Ceaser etc… does exist he’s probably a millennial. Someone who knows very deeply what was lost and will do anything to try and get it back. I think about how this is probably inevitable and even though I can see it coming in the distance I can’t do anything to stop it. Then I go back to scrolling.

Well if china has half as many people for instance then they aren’t as much of a threat geopolitically.
