Oshtor is probably talking about different aspects of modding here but I mod almost every game I play (if it takes over 50 hours of gameplay). There's always improvements the devs could have done but didn't. Usually I stick to performance optimisations and visual improvements like higher res texturing, reduced distant object pop-in, etc. Occasionally also some QoL, such as being able to fast travel from any location instead of having to run for minutes to a teleporter. I don't change characters to thomas the tank engine for example lol. But that's another thing, when you've played a game for hundreds of hours and you still wanna play more because you love it so much, but you already know everything it has to offer out of your head, mods can extend your gametime by putting in new things, like increased difficulty or even entire new bosses the game didn't have. I actually love modding and its community. That's how I got to play pragmata in local co-op with my daughter and it was an awesome bonding experience, which would not have been possible without modding.
