Noderunners conference September 19 2026 Workshop and demo, sending bitcoin over LoRa (meshtastic and meshcore) The session starts with the fundamentals — what LoRa actually is, how a mesh network routes around missing infrastructure, and the hardware it all runs on. Then it compares the two leading LoRa mesh protocols in active use today — Meshtastic and MeshCore — how each one actually moves a message across the network, and where their trade-offs lie. From there it's BTCMesh itself: sign a transaction completely offline, send it as chunked packets across the mesh to a relay operator who does have internet access, and watch it get broadcast to a real public Bitcoin network live — with the resulting transaction visible in the mempool within seconds. Useful for anyone interested in resilient communications, financial censorship resistance, off-grid connectivity, or simply curious what a radio network that needs no towers, SIM cards, or subscriptions can actually do.
