Well, turns out there was very little about MAGA that was actually Christian. Lots of Jesus talk, but no actual repentance.

It is all about God for sure, for “in Him and to Him and through Him are all things.” (I think that is St. Paul) But reformed theology is of a mind to constantly frame either/or dilemmas where they need not exist. Athanasius helps here, I think: “It was unworthy of the goodness of God that creatures made by Him should be brought to nothing through the deceit wrought upon man by the devil; and it was supremely unfitting that the work of God in mankind should disappear, either through their own negligence or through the deceit of evil spirits.” Excerpt From On the Incarnation of the Word Saint Athanasius My point is that once God calls us out of non-being into being, we do have a derivative value of our own. Derived from God, and never over and against his own, but real nonetheless.

I’m inclined to say that is a false dichotomy, both are true. We pray “save me oh God by thy name…” and also “you do not want the work of thy hands to parish…”
