Day 4 of Roxy the Rescue Dog Lulu wakes up to Roxy slinking out of her room. Roxy wants to be near the humans, just doesn’t want them to know it. Lulu feeds Roxy then heads out to fiat mining. Comes home to find Roxy has chewed through Toys Charger Spare Dog collar Slipper Lulu stores this useful intel. After dinner Roxy sidles up to Lulu’s man & allows some head scratches. Contact made! Day 3 of Roxy the Rescue Adventure Lulu gets up to go to work. Roxy cowers under table on hard tiles, avoiding at all costs, the super soft & fluffy blanket Lulu put next to her. Lulu puts Roxy’s breakfast in her bowl. Roxy remains as still as a silent assasin. Lulu goes into her bedroom to put makeup on and do her hair. Roxy gets to work & finishes breakfast in seconds, while humans are out of site. Lulu’s man comes home a few hours later. He lays on a floor mattress. Roxy joins him. Milestone! He adjusts his body to get comfortable and Roxy runs back to her lair, under the table. Lulu gets home from work. Uneventful until Lulu lets Bear the chihuahua out for his bedtime wee. Lulu does not know it yet but Roxy somehow got past her & is now running around outside in the dark. Bear is taking too long for Lulu’s liking. She goes outside to call him in & is shocked to see Roxy running from her in fright. Lulu panics and gives chase. (What NOT to do in this situation.) Luckily Roxy traps herself in a corner & Lulu brings her inside. Roxy and Lulu both go to bed stressed from this altercation. Two steps back. #dogrescuejourney

I Disagree that child’s health is their motivation. If that were the case there are so many things the govt cld tackle. That they don’t: hidden food labels, chemicals in food, make healthy food cheaper, and so many others. It’s not a conspiracy theory to point out the very real push towards digital identification and the roll out begins with a “for your safety” angle. This one’s easy to spot a mile away. But of course we all have unique brain patterns and viewpoints. So no need to agree. 👍

Day 2 of Roxy the Rescue Adventure Lulu came home from fiat mining. Came home and carried Roxy out to the yard to encourage her bathroom time. It has been 30+ hours since Roxy’s last go & something’s gotta give. Roxy quickly runs away and squeezes past a surfboard Lulu used to try and block her escape, to hide in a corner behind the shed. Roxy 1 Lulu 0 Roxy sits on the cold concrete until Lulu realises no bathroom visits will be occurring. Roxy has the upper hand. Again. Roxy refuses to walk so Lulu carries her back inside the home. Roxy immediately scrambles away into a corner under the table. Roxy has an inbuilt high alert security system. Lulu is patient. Has done this many times before. At bedtime, once Roxy thinks everyone is asleep, she begins the investigation of her surroundings. Roxy is loud, clumsy & keeps Lulu awake. Bear the rescue dog, and Roxy begin to chase each other. The time is 10:20 pm. Then Lulu smells the poo she’s been waiting for. It’s a big clean up. Lulu suddenly recalls why she prefers small dog breeds. She’s happy to do it knowing that Roxy’s digestion system is working A-OK. Lulu sits in the living room to do some light reading before once again hitting the hay. Roxy makes her way over (for the very first time) and steals one of Lulu’s slippers that she had just not a second before, removed. Roxy is stealthy. Lulu says No! Roxy is chastised. Lulu tries to hand her a toy instead. Which Roxy ignores. This is progress. #dogrescue #pow

I had a little scan on the bridge of my nose for years. It never went away. Was worried it was melanoma. Booked in for a skin check. Before my appointment it disappeared completely. Why? As Day 1 of our new foster dog Roxy’s arrival, comes to a close, she is still as terrified as when we met this morning. She has eaten a little beef mince and drank some water, only after we all went to bed. I heard her out in the kitchen. I got up just now to carry her outside for a pee as she won’t come on her own. As soon as I put her down on the ground, she ran and hid behind our shed, in the rain on the wet concrete, shaking. She prefers that to the terror of being near me. I feel so sad for her, but cheer myself up, as I tuck her back inside and wrap her in a blanket for the night, with all the wonderful she has yet to come.

Just arrived home with our new foster dog - a female GROODLE named Roxy. She is terrified, vomited in my car on the journey home & i would feel exactly the same way were I in her shoes. Watch this space to follow along & cheer her on as she learns how to be loved! She is from a breeder. Off to pick up some new foster dogs! My current rescue needs a pack so this is going to be a wonderful surprise for him! Not all dogs need other dog companions but mine does! He’s happiest around other dogs! Did you know that senior dogs in shelters get euthanised at a higher percentage rate even though they are the ones that are most often toilet trained, eat less, do less, and don’t care too much if you’re at work all day and all they get to do is lay on the sofa?
