I have my Mastodon account set to auto-delete posts after 3 months. I've come to believe over time that the notion of holding on to a permanent record of all your past posts just isn't that useful. Reality says I'm never going to go back and see any of that stuff. I won't remember that a certain topic is there to even know to look for it.
