For others who see this, the Fed is a banking cartel, made up of the largest banks in the US, who have the largest flows in the US. All other banks bend the economic knee.

The issue is what one means by "rates". The fed only controls the Federal Funds Rate, which they absolutely raise or lower. Because they own that rate and market. If one means "bond rates", which supposedly the FFR influences (and seems like it has in the past, but not to the degree everyone thinks), then...maybe? If one means "lending rates", which could be mortgages to car loans to corporate loans, then...maybe? Even less so? As this is based on bond rates (2/10 year), which have a questionable linkage to the FFR. I don't think the FFR has any relevancy on anything anymore. They can raise or lower the FFR and I think "rates" all they want. The bond market is not really listening a whole lot. Just directionally so, and only for a small amount of time. The Fed is losing control in real-time. The only real trick they have is the money printer, which has already been kicked on for Japan and other behind-the-curtain crises. At this point, I question how relevant the Fed is beyond their ability to influence via narrative. And it seems more and more people are seeing through that narrative every day. Even Wall St, as obtuse and narrative-driven as it is.

To go further, the issue isn't with people's built-in schedules. The issue is with the culture, and how modern society pushes the 9-5 hours, itself an extension from farming. None of that is rooted in evolutionary advantages, whereas people with varying alert hours has clear advantages - the sentinel theory being chief among them. You talk about the calm, quiet cool mornings as meditative. They are. So are crisp, silent nights among the stars. And everything between.

Since I was a small child, I've been a late riser. Turns out, there are whole genes that influence that. Read up on CLOCK, PER1-3, and other numerous chronotypes. And you can test for it. Doesn't mean I wasn't outside all day as a kid. Doesn't mean I wasn't getting hours of sunlight. Doesn't mean I'm lazy, or hate nature, or sit in a dark room all day, or any of the other narrative garbage people want to spin. It's simply how I was *made*. And the evidence is in the blood.

Kinda makes you wonder when pay-for-privacy becomes a common service? Peak bullshit.

Historically, miners are reactionary. I think they're just following momentum, right now.

I know people want nostr to grow.. but I am pretty happy that its not a cash cow for influencers and scammers. It means the bulk of what you run into are real posts by real people giving really hot takes. As influencers take over, my usage of nostr for already-limited social media intake will just evaporate.
