Most people deny themselves the idea that they *are* going to die. This is a pre-requisite to really thinking through these kinds of questions. You have to know how you want to die, and work backward. Suddenly, everyday has a bit more purpose. Not to suggest that you live to die, but to meander through time with no purpose is a great way to build crushing regret and to have your memory fade with the changing of the leaves.

I mean, historically speaking, violence is always a third option. Not advocating it, but I do think it’s the most likely response.

I have thought about building a brand like that. “No Bullshit” goods. From software to physical items. Re-sell other decent manufacturer items, build our own items where possible, covering a wide range of verticals.

I’m not warring against Caesar. That’s a fool’s errand. I’m peacefully leaving the Caesar and his state behind. One monetary unit at a time. Bitcoin is not built for war, but freedom. War may be a side-effect, but not intrinsically.

Here’s one who doesn’t understand money. It’s literally in the first few chapters of The Bitcoin Standard. Every cycle, we go through this again and again and again.

Amen. One day, bitcoiners will finally stop paying attention to narratives and onto actions.

More like fiat when it was “backed” by gold. You still won’t own the gold, just a ticket that you can maybe exchange for gold. Bitcoin is a bearer instrument. You actually move it around.

It’s madness or unethical business. My best guess is that the execs/board want to (very temporarily) juice their stock by acquiring their assets. And then the execs/board bail. That’s what Zaslav did.

Fascinating. You just know all of this has ties to even older history.

No worries. I dunno your age, but Nick likely learned typing on his own or in a class in the 70s. This was widely taught well through the 80s. Typing software kind of died out in the mid 90s. Interesting catch, tho. A lot of people ascribe the use of the emdash to AI. But the reality is that most gen x’ers read and used this growing up, and thus heavily during the early decades of the internet (which is the bulk of AI training sets). There’s this neat meta history to all of this. We should write a book. I’m nerdy enough to enjoy reading it.

Hmmm…. Nah, most of the notes I see are from influencers and influencer wannabes. I’m here to read and interact with the remnant. In a free manner. Oh, and mock the influencers. I know it’s wrong. I’m working on it.

I don’t understand that industry. Subscriptions are struggling, as anyone can see. The cable model is dead. Can you imagine paying $60B+ for a company and then inheriting $38B+ of debt that comes with it?
